Full description of the position
Chromatech is looking for a Customer Service Specialist to join the team in our Canton, MI office. This intra-team role will prioritize assisting customer service, sales and shipping/receiving teams by focusing on shipping responsibilities while cross-training in order entry, planning, shipping and sales administrative roles. This role will report to the Customer Service Manager. Responsibilities: * Provide customer support via telephone, email, and other means, answering incoming telephone calls and emails, forwarding accordingly. * Respond to customer inquiries, understand their requirements, and action as required. * Apprise internal sales staff of changing customer needs, and/or other feedback from customer that could be beneficial for sales staff's knowledge. * Review, accept and acknowledge customer orders and input these orders into ERP software. * Keep customers apprised of any necessary changes to their orders. * Schedule and plan the dates that Chromatech goods will be manufactured and shipped. Work with Sales, Production, and Purchasing departments to forecast demand of products and materials. * Accurately create associated order documentation (Packing slips, labels, etc,) as required. * Prepare and provide any customer specific documents (Certificate of Analysis, Custom Invoice, SLI etc.) as required. * Manage communication of raw material changes. * Learn and assist in sales administration roles, including but not limited to price management and ERP customer file management. * Complete job responsibilities in the most cost-efficient and time-efficient manner, while observing all safety and regulatory requirements. * Provide support in additional areas as needed, including serving as a backup for colleagues during absences. Qualifications and Skills: * Demonstrated reliability and composure in fast-paced, deadline-driven settings. * Strong ability to communicate clearly and effectively with customers across phone, email, and in-person interactions, ensuring a positive and professional experience. * Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues proactively and anticipate potential challenges before they arise * Possess the required computer skills and accuracy required to input customer orders and complete the associated paperwork, including the required labels. * Possess a good knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office applications as well as learn Chromatech's ERP software. * Demonstrated ability to engage with customers professionally and negotiate effectively, particularly in resolving complaints and accommodating special requests. * Ability to effectively interact with purchasing, manufacturing, and sales staff, especially when determining customer requirements * Ability to learn and maintain a good working knowledge and understanding of the Quality and Environmental Management Systems as established at Chromatech Job Type: Full-time Expected hours: 40 per week Benefits: * 401(k) * 401(k) matching * Dental insurance * Health insurance * Paid time off * Vision insurance Shift: * Day shift Shift availability: * Day Shift (Required) Ability to Commute: * Canton, MI 48187 (Required) Work Location: In personChromatech Inc.
