The Sales Manager is responsible for execution of the company's sales and marketing plan within the assigned territory. In addition, the Sales Manager identifies and secures new customers, markets requirements for new products, and maintains relationships to achieve sales volume and profitability as established for the territory. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Define, coordinate, and execute technical sales and marketing support including technical sales presentations, trade shows, customer visits and job site support. * Make direct sales calls on naval architects, shipbuilding companies, inland, marine, and offshore operators within the assigned territory. * Draft and transmit technical and commercial sales proposals and expedite customer requests for quotations, orders, and approvals, as required. * Maintain accurate contact and sales opportunity database in accordance with standard company sales management procedures. Maintain and expand existing accounts. * Coordinate with applications and engineering groups to provide project input and to assist in establishing project price levels and margins. * Provide technical support to customers and interface between customers and project management. * Evaluate the need for technical and commercial product training to end user accounts and request assistance from inside product management resources as required. * Work from office located within the sales territory and perform up to 30-60 percent travel. * Prepare and submit timely call reports, itineraries, sales reports, and expense reports; manage the sales department budget for the territory. * Assist in the establishment of yearly booking forecasts for each product category and submit territory sales forecasts; meet or exceed yearly booking forecasts for territory. * Provide feedback and participate in development of sales strategies in conjunction with marketing and project management. * Ensure quality control in accordance with the company ISO-9001:2015 Quality Assurance System (QAS). * Maintain a safe work environment in accordance with company HSE standards and procedures. * Interact and support a broad spectrum of personnel internal and external to the company--by performing effectively and efficiently in both team-based and independent working environments to reduce costs and add value to the organization. * Represent the technical capabilities of the company and its products at customer meetings, trade shows, conferences and seminars. * Perform any other duties that may be assigned by manager. * Heavy (more than 30 percent and more than three weeks) MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS * Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university, or six (6) to 10 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience * Five (5) years experience in technical or capital equipment sales; and * Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications software. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS * Bachelor of Science in any engineering, physical science or technical discipline. * Ten (10) years experience in technical or capital equipment sales. * Five (5) years experience in the offshore marine, petrochemical or aviation industries. * Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications software.
