Job Summary: Fortun Insurance is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Excess and Surplus (E &S) Lines Manager to lead the ABCO Team in our E&S underwriting and brokerage operations. This role is responsible for managing a team, developing relationships with carriers and retail agents, ensuring compliance with E&S regulations, and driving profitability in the wholesale insurance market. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in E&S underwriting, risk assessment, and market analysis. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Team Management: * Lead, mentor, and develop the ABCO Team of E&S underwriters and brokers. * Provide training and guidance on underwriting best practices and market trends. * Set performance goals and ensure the team meets revenue and profitability targets. Underwriting & Risk Assessment: * Oversee underwriting decisions, ensuring proper risk assessment and pricing strategies. * Analyze applications, policy documents, and endorsements to determine coverage suitability. * Work closely with carriers and wholesalers to negotiate terms, pricing, and conditions. Market & Carrier Relations: * Develop and maintain strong relationships with surplus lines carriers and specialty markets. * Stay informed about market trends, emerging risks, and competitive products. * Assist in securing new carrier appointments and expanding product offerings. Compliance & Regulatory Oversight: * Ensure all placements comply with state and federal surplus lines regulations. * Maintain accurate records of E&S transactions, filings, and tax obligations. * Keep the team updated on regulatory changes affecting surplus lines business. Business Development & Strategy: * Collaborate with retail agents to understand client needs and provide tailored E&S solutions. * Identify new business opportunities and contribute to the growth of Fortun's wholesale division. * Develop and implement strategies to enhance Fortun's presence in the E&S market. Qualifications & Requirements: * years of experience in E&S underwriting, brokerage, or surplus lines insurance. * Strong knowledge of surplus lines markets, regulations, and compliance requirements. * Proven leadership and team management skills. * Established relationships with E&S carriers and wholesale markets preferred. * Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing market conditions.
