The Space Store is proud to open its first-ever retail location in Chattanooga, TN, expanding from one of the largest online NASA retailers since 1999. As part of the pioneering team in our brick-and-mortar store, you'll have the unique opportunity to collaborate closely with the dynamic e-commerce team from Firecrown, the parent company behind The Space Store. Firecrown operates six e-commerce stores and publishes dozens of magazines, creating a fast-moving and innovative environment. At The Space Store, you'll help bring the excitement of space exploration to life, while gaining hands-on experience in both retail and e-commerce operations.

Job Summary

: As a Sales Associate at The Space Store, you will be the face of our retail experience. Your role is to provide outstanding customer service, assist shoppers with product selections, and maintain a welcoming and organized store environment. You'll need to be knowledgeable about our product offerings, which include space-themed gifts, toys, clothing, and memorabilia. Your passion for space and science will help you connect with customers and provide a memorable shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities

:

• Customer Service: Greet customers, answer product questions, and provide personalized recommendations based on their interests.
• Sales: Assist customers in making purchases, operating the point-of-sale system, and handling cash and card transactions.
• Product Knowledge: Learn about The Space Store's wide range of products, promotions, and new arrivals to help customers make informed choices.
• Stocking & Merchandising: Ensure shelves are fully stocked, well-organized, and appealing to shoppers. Assist with receiving inventory and restocking products.
• Store Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales floor, fitting rooms, and checkout areas.
• Promotions & Events: Support in-store events, product launches, and special promotions by engaging customers and helping with setup or breakdown.
• Team Collaboration: Work alongside other sales associates and management to meet sales goals and create a positive work environment.

Qualifications

:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous retail or customer service experience preferred but not required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Interest in space, science, or technology is a plus!
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Basic math skills for handling cash and transactions.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
