SALARY RANGE: $65,000-$75,000/Year- based on work experience Potential for quarterly bonus- Based on sales experience EMPLOYEE BENEFITS: * Paid Time Off * 401K & Employer Match * Health Insurance * Vision Insurance * Dental Insurance * Health Savings Account * Life Insurance * Disability Insurance * Employee Restaurant & Hotel Discounts JOB OVERVIEW: Based at the Crowne Plaza Niagara Falls the Director of Catering & Events Sales position is responsible for the production of banquet meeting rooms and banquet food and beverage revenue as defined by the Corporate Director of Sales. This position will have a primary, but not exclusive, focus on Weddings. This position will also include being the day of contact for banquet events. Within their market assignments as designated by the Director of Sales, this person will also be responsible for the coordination of events from the point of site inspection to contracting/booking to finalization of details/event orders in a timely manner. Responsible for the issuing of contracts to clients for review and signature. Responsible for the receipt and posting of deposits and additional payments towards individual events. Responsible for maintaining clean files within the Sales Office's filing system. Also responsible for informing staff of upcoming events/groups through the production of group resumes and other hotel communication methods. In addition to the above, this position is responsible for assisting the Director of Sales, the Banquet Manager and other hotel management and departments as needed. REQUIRED SKILLS: * Ability to follow and enforce hotel standards and procedures * Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments, multi task * Ability to be a clear thinker, analyze and resolve problems exercising good judgment. * Ability to suggestively sell additional extra revenue items. * Ability to input and access information into computer. * Ability to ensure security and confidentiality of client information and hotel data. * Ability to work as part of a team. * Ability to focus with attention to details. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: * Comply with all hotel/departmental policies and procedures. * Ensure that all clerical work is processed on a timely basis. * Organize group traces files for follow-up; be familiar with status of each. * Maintain a professional, organized office environment. * Conduct Site Tours to prospective clients through the property to highlight features. * Participate in departmental meetings * Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiry. * Contact clients after each scheduled event to solicit rebooking, when applicable. * Participate in Bridal and Wedding shows. * Respond to all leads within 24 business hours. DESIRED SKILLS: * Previous hotel sales/catering experience preferred * Ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co-workers * Ability to provide legible communication. * Familiarity with Sales and Marketing tools * Ability to learn and use Sales and Catering automated system, familiarity with Windows, Excel and other systems
