Customer Sales Representative Job Details Level : Entry Job Location : Chicago - Chicago, IL Position Type : Full Time Education Level : 4 Year Degree Job Category : Transportation Description As a Logistics Sales Representative your primary objective is to acquire customers and move their inventory by matching their freight with available equipment. This position reports directly to Customer Sales Team Manager. Compensation includes base pay as well as incentive pay (commission and bonus) based on performance. Essential Job Functions * Develop and harvest new freight accounts through primarily inside sales practices: daily cold-calling and emailing * Encourage the selling of in-house freight for which you are obligated to facilitate * Oversee and manage all loads within your book of business * Directly communicate with Carrier Sales and Carrier Operations Representatives regarding all assigned freight * Continued management, growth and development of established customer relationships * Negotiate rates with customers based off of essential load details and market value (FTL, LTL, Intermodal/Rail) * Review Billing Queue and Accounting to ensure invoice accuracy and receipt of invoices via customer's preferred method (email, fax, mail) * Handle all issues and problems involved with direct freight * Travel to a customer or business site for business related meetings or entertainment purposes as needed * Other duties and special projects as assigned by management Qualifications * Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience * 1 - 3 year(s) work or internship experience Other Skills/Abilities * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Quick learner with a strong ability to multi-task * Acute attention to detail * Entrepreneurial spirit * Accountable, direct and confident in personality with a desire to strive to be better * Superior problem solving and analytical skills
