Full description of the position

Job Description: The Associate Director of Sales is a strategic and results-driven leader responsible for assisting in the development and execution of the hotel's sales strategy. This role supports the Director of Sales & Marketing in driving top-line revenue, managing key accounts, mentoring the sales team, and maintaining strong client relationships to maximize overall performance across all market segments. Key Responsibilities: * Associate Director of Sales plays a crucial role in the property's group sales efforts, focusing on specific group business while managing a dedicated team of group sales associates * Develop and manage group sales revenue and operation budgets and provide forecasting reports * Support the Director of Sales with forecasting, goal; setting, and performance monitoring * Respond to incoming group/catering opportunities within pre-defined peak room parameters and designated market segments Manage the hotel's key accounts, nurturing long-term partnerships and uncovering new opportunities. * Proactively identify and pursue new business through prospecting, networking, and attending industry events. * Collaborate with the marketing team to develop campaigns and client-facing materials. * Achieve or exceed group sales revenue goals through effective selling and upselling techniques. * Supervise and mentor sales team members, ensuring individual and team targets are met. * Assist the DOSM in leading regular sales meetings and provide coaching to enhance productivity and engagement. * Partner with Human Resources on recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing training. * Work cross-functionally with Revenue, Operations, Catering, and Marketing to align strategy and execution. * Participate in weekly business review and revenue strategy meetings. * Represent the hotel at industry tradeshows, client events, and community engagements. * Monitor sales activities through CRM and generate regular performance reports. * Analyze booking pace, conversion ratios, and market penetration to inform decision-making. * Ensure accurate and timely input of information into sales systems. * Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards * Provide effective written communication to the hotel operations team regarding onsite groups and events * Effectively utilize hotels' Group Rooms Control (GRC) reports for recording group opportunities to measure YOY performance and determine need periods when it may be necessary to adjust strategies to drive more corporate group revenues * Identify operational problems that impact the effectiveness of overall sales performance and work closely with appropriate Departments on solutions * Cultivate collaborative, mutually supportive relationships with and among customers, as well as the Ameswell Hotel community, sales office, and hotel staff * Adhere to the hotel's sales guidelines and book profitable business based on needs and times * Participate in local networking organizations, wedding shows, community, and industry events while representing the Ameswell Hotel in a professional manner * Perform other duties as assigned Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise: * Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality, or related field preferred. * 5+ years of progressive hotel sales experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role. * Proven success in managing group and/or corporate segments. * Strong knowledge of Hotel PMS system, CRM Systems, Cvent, Agency and Demand 360 and other similar systems. * Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. * Ability to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed. * Must be willing to work varied hours.
