Tax Accountant (Multi-state sales tax exp req) Location: Berea, OH (100% on-site) Salary: $31.25/hr - $33.65/hr + $5k-$10k Discretionary Bonus + Benefits Benefits: Medical, Dental, Life, STD, HSA/FSA, 401(K) with Company Match, Profit Sharing, PTO Job Type: Full-Time (40-hours per week) Typical Hours: M-F, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Start Date: ASAP Sponsorship is not available Tax Accountant (Multi-state sales tax exp req) Description Our client in the industrial distribution and manufacturing industry is looking for a Tax Accountant to add to their team in Berea, OH. As a vital member of a small, close-knit accounting team, you will manage national sales and use tax compliance, reconcile tax accounts, and assist with A/R and A/P responsibilities. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in multi- state sales tax filings, experience with platforms like Vertex or Avalara, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a dynamic, hands-on environment. Tax Accountant (Multi-state sales tax exp req) Responsibilities * Manage national sales/use tax via Vertex including review, reconciliation, and payments * Register for tax in new jurisdictions as needed * Generate and submit monthly sales tax data to Vertex for return preparation * Support accounts receivable: billing, collections, and payment posting * Assist with general ledger reconciliations for sales tax accounts * Handle progress payment invoices as needed * Participate in ERP migration support activities * Ensure accuracy and compliance with tax laws across multiple jurisdictions * Collaborate with CFO and small accounting team on varied projects Tax Accountant (Multi-state sales tax exp req) Qualifications * Associate's degree or higher required * 3+ years of accounting experience required * Multi-state sales/use tax experience required * Manufacturing, Distribution, or similar industry experience required * Intermediate Excel skills (PivotTables and formulas) required Job Type: Full-time Pay: $31.25 - $33.65 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Benefits: * 401(k) * 401(k) matching * Dental insurance * Health insurance * Life insurance * Paid time off * Vision insurance Schedule: * 8 hour shift * Day shift * Monday to Friday Application Question(s): * This role is 100% on-site.
