Field Sales Representative Territory Coverage: West Florida (Tallahassee to Naples Area) Company Description SouthTech Marketing is an manufacturer's representative firm, headquartered in Raleigh, NC. Our customers include original equipment manufacturers(OEM's) in the military, aerospace, industrial, telecom, medical, transportation and instrumentation markets . Any product or system that uses or incorporates electronics. We market a broad range of complimentary solutions, including: Aerospace Latches & Slides, Domestic and International Power Cords, User Input Devices(Rubber Keypads, Membrane Switches, Flex Circuits, Smart Interface Assemblies), RF & Fiber Optic Interconnect Solutions(Active Optics, Antennas, Multipin Aerospace, Multipin Industrial, Optical Cable Assemblies, Optical Connectors, Outdoor Connectors, RF & Microwave Switches, RF Cable Assemblies, RF Connectors, Space Qualified Products), Ruggedized Shipping & Transit Containers, Aluminum Rackmounts and more. We are a small, successful company and have been in business since 2003. We are active, energetic and growth-oriented and we seek the same in candidates for our field sales representative position. Job Description We are looking for a field sales representative that would be responsible for the sale of electronic components and custom solutions to OEM's across West Florida. Specific duties include: * Prospecting new customers and new opportunities within existing customers - for our manufacturers' products and services * Building and maintaining customer relationships with engineering and purchasing, in order to identify new opportunities and grow sales * Positioning our manufacturers' products to address customer needs through one-on-one meetings, product presentations, hosting technology seminars and travel with engineers, managers and other personnel from our manufacturers * Identifying and addressing customers' needs in a timely manner, in order to drive sales opportunities from concept to design and qualification to production and ultimately to revenue. * Securing purchase orders and significantly growing firm revenue * Providing post-production support to customers * Attending sales meetings, conferences, trade shows and other events * Participating in and leading training sessions for our distribution channel sales partners * Regular, real-time updating of CRM/Opportunity Tracking database Desired Skills & Experience The ideal candidate will possess: * Bachelor's degree. Engineering, Business, Marketing, or equivalent preferred. An EE degree is not required, however a strong technical aptitude is. * An understanding of the vertical markets served by our customers - and the products they design for them * Abitlity to identify wants, needs and technical requirements of our customers * Ability to assess the strengths and weaknesses of our manufacturers' solutions - and those of their competitors * A minimum of 2 years experience as a manufacturer's representative, electronics distributor account manager or a direct sales rep for an electronic component manufacturer. * Familiarity with the customer base and electronics distribution channel in the territory * Excellent planning/organization, time management and communication (verbal & written) skills * Excellent listening skills * Proven sales and negotiating skills * Ability to successfully and productively multitask * Self-motivation with the personal flexibility to adapt to, and prioritize, competing demands for time and attention * A desire to exceed sales goals and be rewarded with a "no-ceiling" commission plan * The ability to be accountable even without constant supervision, to ask for assistance when needed and to accept mentoring * Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, on-line (cloud) applications and smart phones.
