The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a job opening for Online Sales and Shipping Clerk in the ARC-Adult Rehabilitation Center. Job Summary: Maintains, monitors, and updates Centers E-Bay website daily. Selects merchandise for Internet sales from the warehouses on a regular basis. Corresponds with bidders and buyers, as well as Salvation Army, E-Bay Fund officials as needed. Researches and photographs sale items; prepare item descriptions for listing; list a minimum of fifty (50) items per week. Packages sold items for shipment and take to shipper for delivery to customer. Prepares purchases for shipping within two days of receipt of funds and upon receipt of payment for purchased items confirmed with the Director of Finance. Orders and maintains all necessary shipping and office supplies required. Ensures continued compliance with all standards established by The Salvation Army, E-Bay regarding Centers presence as a non-profit charitable organization on E-Bay. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge and experience with marketing principles and practices. Ability to communicate clearly and effective both orally and in writing. Ability to successfully work with diverse individuals and organizations. Ability to anticipate buyer concerns and devise ways to satisfy buyers efficiently and effectively. Ability to present a positive and professional image of the ARC. Ability to administer a budget and monitor expenditures for compliance with the budget. Ability to prepare and maintain reports in an accurate and complete manner. Knowledge of basic photographic techniques. Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED and one-year experience working in E-Commerce or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Certifications: Valid State Drivers License Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and effectively communicate in the English language. Ability to learn quickly and follow instructions. Limited physical effort required associated with sitting, walking, standing, lifting, bending, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, 75% to 100% of the work time, and carrying light objects (usually less than 25 lbs.) 10-25% of work time. Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Some work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like. Some work requires exposure to the outdoors where there are physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt and the like. Additionally, work requires traveling throughout the metro area which may be associated with changes in weather or discomforts.
