POSITION SUMMARY: As a Sales Associate at Nickey Kehoe, you will greet and assist clients with a strong focus on delivering an exceptional hospitality experience in line with the Nickey Kehoe mission. You will encourage client engagement with our merchandise by offering outstanding customer service, always sharing the stories behind our makers and artists, as well as providing insights into our NK Collection. In addition, you will quickly respond to client inquiries via email and support the sales process using our POS system. You will also assist with order processing and tracking as required. The Sales Associate is service- oriented, adaptable, courteous, and conscientious in their work, providing a seamless and enjoyable shopping experience for our customers. DUTIES INCLUDE: * Greet and graciously assist clients with focused attention to creating a high-end customer experience sharing the stories of our makers and artists * Initiates genuine conversation to engage with the customer in a personalized way where all customers feel welcome, heard and valued * Demonstrate and communicate a keen understanding of product information, furniture construction and design knowledge * Supports a selling environment in all areas of the sales floor by connecting with multiple customers and sharing product suggestions * Builds productive relationships with peers; asks for support when needed and makes an effort to help others * Supports the shipment process to gain awareness of product, including what's new and what's restock; contributes to completion of omni order fulfillment processes while maintaining stock levels of the floor * Provides a frictionless customer experience by utilizing resources to transact in the moment, find sizes and colors, and place orders for items not available in store * See sales through to completion and follow-up with the customer as necessary * Organize, label and ship fabric, finish, and wallpaper samples and sample boxes * Ensure that products leaving the store are safely packaged and gift wrapped * Facilitate sales using our point-of-sale system and closing out sales orders on a daily basis. * Restock merchandise and packaging materials as necessary * Reply with 24 hours to client inquiries via email or phone * Assist in the upkeep of the visual experience and merchandising in Household, ensuring fresh, tidy, organized, and photo-ready displays and vignettes as well as maintain and practice general showroom maintenance * Maintains Nickey Kehoe's visual and operational standards while keeping the focus on the customer; stays current on merchandising updates * Other projects and tasks as assigned by Manager QUALIFICATIONS & KEY ATTRIBUTES: * Previous sales experience, preferably in a retail environment * High-end customer service and the ability to remain graceful under pressure * Familiarity with POS and inventory tracking systems * Excellent communication skills both verbal and written * Aptitude for multitasking and prioritizing tasks * Ability to retain and communicate product knowledge * Highly self motivated and takes initiative to provide support to team members * Interest in product knowledge and research in the interior design industry * Familiarity with PC/Mac platforms and strong basic computer skills * Experience working with Interior Designers and Industry professionals * Comfortable with dynamic environments and assisting in visual merchandising, packaging / handling product and activity-based services * Must be able to lift up to 50lb As an Equal Opportunity Employer, it is our highest priority that no employee or applicant is discriminated against on the basis of race, color, gender, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, citizenship, veteran status or any other characteristics protected by law.
