Position Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Surgical Sales Coordinator to join our ophthalmology practice. This key team member will ensure seamless coordination of surgical services for our patients. The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication and organizational skills, a passion for patient care, and a strong sales acumen to assist in presenting premium surgical services. Prior experience in ophthalmology is not required , as we provide training. Prior sales experience highly valued. * Key Responsibilities * Surgery Scheduling: Coordinate surgical appointments, ensuring all necessary pre- and post-operative arrangements are made. * Patient Communication: Act as the primary liaison for patients scheduled for surgery, providing detailed information on surgical services, instructions, and timelines. * Insurance Verification & Authorization: Verify patient benefits for surgery, obtain necessary insurance authorizations, and maintain accurate documentation. * Premium Surgical Services Sales: Present and discuss premium surgical options with patients (LASIK, Laser Cataract Surgery, Premium Intraocular Lens implants with cataract surgery), emphasizing benefits and value. Sales performance will be an important aspect of the job. * Collaboration: Work closely with surgeon, clinical staff, and administrative teams to ensure a seamless patient experience for all patients having surgery with our practice. * Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of all surgical scheduling and patient interactions in compliance with practice policies and regulations. Qualifications * Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. College degree preferred. * Experience: * Previous experience in sales is highly valued. * Experience in medical or surgical coordination is a plus but not required. * Skills: * Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to empathize with patients. * Fluent in English and Spanish * Proven ability to present and sell services effectively. * Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. * Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable learning medical scheduling and electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
