Duties

include: Running a small gallery/publishing firm located in Point Loma and owned by an artist, now living in Hawaii; serves customers who come into the gallery; office correspondence and clerical work; work on forthcoming art books and revised website; prepares submissions (applications to exhibit) to art galleries, museums and juried exhibitions all over the country; tracks and records all existing and new artworks; handles and files governmental and insurance forms, sales records, and invoices; oversees sales records and billing to local retailers; routinely speaks with, and writes, galleries around the country, in an attempt to place artworks with these galleries; maintains gallery and storeroom, in good condition and well-organized state; assists sales representative to place cards and artworks with local retailers; weekly follows a task list prepared by gallery owner, and updates him on progress; receives and pays all bills sent to the gallery; takes artworks to be photographed and framed, at firms used for these purposes; routinely communicates with the manager and with the owner, via phone, fax and email; assists sales representative as needed.

: Require: sales experience; clerical skills; close attention to detail; outgoing, upbeat, with professional demeanor, self-reliance, and integrity; strong work ethic, ability to work alone; must have own vehicle.
