Current Position: Multiple shifts available

Position Summary

: The Battery Technician is responsible for providing lock-out, fuel delivery, battery jump starts , battery replacements and tire change services using established guidelines and quality control procedures. Communicates with members effectively to keep them informed and to ensure their safety.

Responsibilities

: The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Performs battery testing on member's vehicles utilizing specialized battery testing equipment.
• If necessary, performs maintenance on battery terminals, determines whether the battery needs boosting or replacement. Provides battery boost as appropriate; performs proper maintenance on battery terminals, utilizing hazardous materials training; install appropriate batteries on-the-spot; follows all safety procedures in accordance with Club policies and procedures.
• Battery Technicians are required to maintain a 30% or higher conversion rate of new battery sales to meet the criteria of this positions.
• Inventories all electronic testing equipment.
• Will be required to attend and complete a Battery Certification Class through AAA.

Minimum Qualifications

(Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

• High School diploma or GED preferred not required.
• Satisfactorily pass a motor vehicle record check during pre-hire screening and periodically during employment in accordance with Company policy.
• Active and valid driver's license with driving record in good standing, issued by only one state or jurisdiction required.
• Able to obtain and maintain a minimum of one-year DOT/Medical card pre-hire and as a current employee required.
• At least 18 years of age post-secondary training in automotive mechanics and familiarity of electrical troubleshooting is preferred.
• Ability to read maps and utilize navigation resources, including but not limited, to GPS.
• Excellent communication skills and customer service oriented
• Ability to listen to, understand, and communicate with others by telephone, in written form, electronically, or in person.
• Encourage, build, and maintain mutual trust, respect, and cooperation with others.
• Ability to proactively and consistently close sales and generate referral opportunities by assessing customer needs, cross selling and up selling products and services.
• Ability to apply sound judgement to produce appropriate outcomes to a variety of situations. Including high volume and challenging situations.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to read and follow work rules, safety practices, and work procedures.
• Customer focus, dependability, teamwork, coordination, organization, time management, reporting, documentation, inventory control and equipment maintenance.
• Some computer skills preferred, data entry skills a plus.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision.
• Ability to prioritize and organize workflow on a daily basis to accomplish required tasks. Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $3,000.00 - $4,500.00 per month
