Zodica Perfumery is seeking a Retail Sales + Events Associate (either part- time or full-time) who can thrive in an upscale, boutique environment that merges perfume with metaphysical elements. No prior knowledge of astrology is necessary, although this is a plus so please let us know! This lead position will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and planning store marketing and events to promote the boutique's unique atmosphere & specialized offerings. Where You Can Shine: * Daily Operations : Supervise the overall functioning of the boutique, ensuring daily operations such as processing sales transactions through the POS system, and maintaining a welcoming and clean environment. Provide leadership to a junior retail sales associate. * Customer Service : Uphold high standards of customer interaction, providing a warm, personalized experience that utilizes deep product knowledge. Guide customers through the Zodica experience, tailored to customers' astrological signs and scent preferences. * Event Planning : Design and execute events with our owner that grows our community engagement and increases sales. * Inventory Management : Oversee the incoming stock, POS system, ensuring that inventory is well organized and up to date. Must maintain clear communication and coordination with staff at our Madison headquarters. * Visual Merchandising : Implement merchandising strategies that reflect the boutique's aesthetic. * Sales and Marketing : Develop dynamic promotional approaches with our owner to increase revenue, with an emphasis on customer engagement and product knowledge. What You Bring To The Table: * Prior retail lead and/or events experience. * Excellent communication abilities. * A passion for service and small business culture. * Reliable with impeccable integrity. * Ability to work independently, multitask and adapt to various roles ("many hats" approach). * An open mind, aligning with Zodica Perfumery's culture and mission. Schedule This role requires your availability to work during store hours which includes weekends and holidays. There is typically one person working the store at a time so it's very important you are dependable and have reliable transportation to open and close the store. There is another junior associate who can be available to work alternating weekend days. We are open to hiring someone part-time or full-time. Store hours are Wednesday, Thursday, Friday from 12-6pm, Saturday 10am-6pm, and Sunday 12pm-5pm. Work Environment & Physical Demands: * Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, talk and/or hear for long periods of time. * Occasional lifting up to 25lbs * Work in a fragrance filled environment * Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including evening, weekend and holiday shifts This role is ideal for someone who loves small business, enjoys face-to-face customer interaction, and has a personal interest relationship building. Zodica is a female-founded small business that creates a collection of 12 perfumes based on your zodiac sign. It was launched in 2016 after 3 years of development, two blind studies and multi-city market testing. Magically, about 80% of people like their zodiac sign. Zodica Perfumery opened their flagship boutique in September 2024 located at 133 W Johnson St in the heart of Madison's central business district off of State St. While their products are found in specialty retailers all across the country, this location is their only brand-owned store. The boutique aims to bring the brand to life in an experiential shopping experience.
