About the Role: As* _Sales_* Manager you will work directly with clients planning travel and group for their organization and ensure a positive lasting impression. Serve as the primary liaison between the sales team and the staff while focusing on the client's expectations. Our ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the city market, a dynamic, analytical background and generate business through aggressive sales efforts. Responsibilities: * Present ideas, expectations and information in a concise, well-organized way. * This position will be selling to National and Local Preferred Corporate Accounts as well as certain Corporate and Association groups. * Position requires the ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays to oversee the execution of events * Prospect new business and follow through frequently with existing accounts and travel agencies through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections, entertainment and written communication * Create marketing and promotional campaigns to build visibility and revenue opportunities * Recommend, participate and attend trade shows, sales & FAM trips, community events and industry meetings (local and national) * Negotiate and establish rates for corporate and local negotiated accounts (with direction from DOSM, DORM, GM) * Fully comprehend Transient and Group sales strategies, strengths and weaknesses, market trends and promotional programs within the competitive set * Utilize Agency360 or/and other BI Tools to prospect for new business and moving share of existing and prospective accounts * Participate in weekly strategic/revenue meetings, daily business review meeting, training and other sales related meetings as required * Complete individual quarterly and annual sales action plan and support with the annual Business Plan * Do quarterly shop calls on your accounts to competitor hotels in the market * Conduct quarterly sales blitz to your current and prospective customers * Ensures that all client correspondence is delivered according to departmental time and quality standards * Able to produce a weekly sales call schedule which addresses timely follow up of all tentative business, maintenance of existing accounts, and development of new business, and priorities assigned by the Director of Sales * Complete all departmental reports and systems on a timely basis * Able to negotiate contracts that meet standards for rate or revenue * Able to negotiate the best interests of the property while maintaining customer goodwill * Familiar with legality of contractual agreements * Understands operational capabilities of the property * Manages group and interpersonal conflict situations effectively * Establish, measure, monitor and evaluate processes policies and procedures * Evaluates business trends to modify strategies Requirements: * Prior experience or similar role is required, strong hotel background (2+ years) * Four-year college degree from an accredited institution desired * Solid computer skills and knowledge of various discipline-focused computer programs, including strong proficiency in Microsoft Office. * Excellent communication skills * Strong organizational skills including follow up, time management, ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment TEAM Benefits: * Bonus Eligible * 401k * Health/Dental/Vision/Life/Voluntary Insurance * Vacation/Well/Holiday Pay * Team and Travel Discounts * Career advancement opportunity Full-Time positions are benefits eligible including time off, travel discounts, medical and other insurance options are also available.
