JOB Description: Financial Advisor and Trader, Mathews Capital Management LLC ("MCM LLC") KNOWN FOR: Our Differentiator is Stock & Options Trading Strategies and Performance JOB DESCRIPTION Seeking to add a junior Advisor and Trader to support the CEO of MCM. Roles as follows: 1.) Learn & trade my stock & options strategies on the smallest 25-30 clients in terms of dollar size and 2.) Sell & manage new clients that they bring in. 4 months trial period, then turning into a Full-Time (salary plus commission) position Mathews Capital Management LLC is a California Based RIA (Registered Investment Advisor) specializing in individual stocks, ETF's and related options strategies has over 100 accounts. I am looking for a 'junior person supporting the CEO' - someone who believes that 'buy and hold and hang in there, ' is not the only way to manage money. Most large Wall Street firms believe in 'Buy and hold' strategies. This makes sense as they can scale and earn fees as long as the person stays invested (in their Brokerage brand) and they rarely underperform the market averages - because as buy & hold aficionados, they in affect ARE the market. We take a different approach at MCM. We are more tactical in our strategies to attempt to outperform the market averages. We use individual stocks and conservative options strategies to provide both downside protection and outperform the stock market averages to the upside. We are tax aware, and slow down the options trades for taxable accounts, but we are not tax advisors. We specialize in options strategies such as writing (cash backed) puts, writing covered calls & collar trades, etc. ). These strategies allow us to limit the downside risk and outperform to the upside. Taxes do become a factor in active, tactical management - but not in IRA's ROTH IRA's, SEP IRA's, etc. So while prefer these tax deferred accounts so we don't have to factor in taxes, we can do taxable accounts but we write them more slowly (~5 month trades) to minimize the taxes (in individual, joint and trust) accounts. I would like to bring on a junior FA who is comfortable with both trading and selling. As this is a small business has over 100 accounts, it is intimate enough to wear both hats as partially responsible for managing a small book of client portfolio and partially selling new business. A full time role allows time and resources to wear both hates. An ideal candidate would thrive in working in a small business environment, directly reporting to the CEO. Someone who loves the stock market and get excited about learning about an alternative way to do options trading verses the conventional "buy and hold" passive model way of money management. Not day trading mind you but 5-8 week Options trades. An ideal candidate would have a growth mind set with the enthusiasm to learn new strategies and loves to stay engaged and active mentally trading my client portfolios. Experience & licenses in selling financial services and self- motivated to grow new business is preferred. QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduate (required); College (preferred) Series 65 (or 66 (required to sell and talk to clients); 1-3 years' experience preferred Finance & Accounting Background (preferred). The ideal candidate will love autonomy & be a self-starter. COMPENSATION: Base & Discretionary (Commissions) based salary: For the first 4 months the person is hired on a trial basis (to make sure it is a good fit on both sides). After month 4 the person becomes permanent if performance goals are being met. The salary is part BASE and part discretionary (commission). The BASE Salary during the trial period is as follows Month #1: $1,250 Month #2: $1,250 Month #3: $1,500 Month #4: $1,750 Month #5-12: $3,750 per month. After Month 12 the person would be eligible for a raise. For this BASE Salary - the successful individual will learn my stock & learn the core conservative options strategies, and after 30 days, apply them (with supervision) to the smallest 25-30 clients. In addition, the successful person will prospect & sell MCM to the marketplace. A minimum of $3.35 million sales generated by the end of month four is considered passing the trial period. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Plus the Commission (salary) portion of the plan: * You will also receive 32 basis points (unlimited) for every dollar you sell. For 1 year after you sell it. Then in year #2 it drops to 15 basis points, then in year #3 it drops to 10 basis points (assuming the client remains with MCM, LLC).. Going forward (from year #4 onward) it goes to zero. Ex: $5 Million = $1,334 per month (for 12 cycles); At the end of 12 months this would equal = Not meeting expectations EX: $7.5 Million = $2,000 per month (for 12 cycles); At the end of 12 months this would equal = Not meeting expectations EX: $10 Million = $2,667 per month (for 12 cycles); At the end of 12 months this would equal = Meeting Expectations. Then in months 13-24 $1,250; then in months 25-36: $833.33. EX: $12 Million = $3,200 per month (for 12 cycles); At the end of 12 months this would equal Meeting Expectations. Then in months 13-24 $1,500; then in months 25-36: $1,000. EX: $15 Million = $4,000 per month (for 12 cycles); Then in months 13-24 $1,875; then in months 25-36: $1,667. Exceeding Expectations. EX: $20 Million = $5,334 per month (for 12 cycles); Then in months 13-24 $2,500; then in months 25-36: $1,667, Greatly Exceeding Expectations. If the advisor brings in a book of business of estimated amount of $22,500,000+ - we will treat this as a separate negotiation along the lines above of Base + Commission. Evaluation after 3 months and after 4 months to make the decision on permeance. Benefits: Only applies to full time employees.
