Full description of the position
Technical Sales with "Kraftitude"- This position involves selling manufacturing equipment to an established craft industry. As such, the right person needs to be able to balance the need for process improvement through technology while respecting the underlying elements of the craft. Continuous learning skills and curiosity are prerequisites. Summary/Objective: Responsible for actively driving the sales process, working in conjunction with the customer service team and a product advocate for our products. Advises and assists customers on the application, purchase, and maintenance of products and systems. Helps companies find the right products to improve the efficiency, output, and safety of manufacturing and industrial processing operations. Accountable for developing and maintaining customer accounts through learning customers' businesses, identifying business needs, and proactively seeking ways to promote and sell our products and services to meet their needs. Industry: Selling primarily to footwear manufactures in North America. This is a limited market solidly based on historical companies. Sales are typically 95% replacement and 5% growth and automation. Essential Functions: (This description is not all inclusive, other duties may be assigned): * Drives profitable sales growth of products and solutions by working directly with new and existing customers, our partners, and the team. * Provides pre-sales technical assistance and product education and post-sales support and services. * Develops and maintains long-term relationships with customers through managing and interpreting their requirements--speaking with customers to understand, anticipate and meet their needs. * Maintains electronic sales tracking--call frequency, sales call reports, quotations, expense reports and monthly sales control reports. * Documents and communicates customer requirements to team members. * Works with customer service department to review sales orders. * Works with the President on the development of forecasts for sales; develops strategies and implementation to ensure that the objectives are realized. * Keeps well informed of customers' operations and report developments in competitive strategies, product information and/or other opportunities within customer businesses/facilities which are significant. * Makes recommendations for the introduction of new customers, products and the improvement of existing processes and products. * Supports marketing by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events as required. * Conducts surveys, investigations, or studies within assigned accounts at the direction of management. Supervisory Responsibility: * N/A Work Environment: * Works from home, manufacturing, and customer onsite environments. Physical Requirements: Reasonable accommodations will be considered which would allow the employee to perform the essential functions of the job. * Will require automobile and commercial airline travel to customer facilities. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Full Time Part Time Temporary Monday TuesdayWednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday Travel: Domestic and International travel may be required; must have and maintain a valid passport. Required Education and Experience: * 5 years' experience selling capital equipment. * BA degree or equivalent, knowledge in sales, marketing, and business administration. * Ability to identify all technical issues of assigned accounts to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process. * Basic computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office. * Must be a self-starter, highly motivated and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
