Overview We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintaining and repairing heavy machinery, ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely. This role requires a hands-on approach, utilizing various tools and diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues. Duties * Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, and forklifts. * Utilize hand tools and power tools to diagnose mechanical problems and conduct repairs. * Conduct automotive diagnostics to identify issues with engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems. * Fabricate parts as needed to ensure machinery is operational. * Interpret schematics and technical manuals to understand equipment specifications and repair requirements. * Inspect air brake systems for functionality and safety compliance. * Maintain accurate records of maintenance performed on equipment. * Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while adhering to safety standards. Experience * Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or similar role is preferred. * Proficiency in using hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and fabrication techniques. * Familiarity with HVAC systems is a plus. * Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance principles and practices. * Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. * Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
