Job Summary * Coordinate complex strategic communications campaigns to reach and influence key audiences through public affairs, public relations, and community relations tactics. * Develop relationships with key community groups, media, nonprofit leaders, and policy makers. * Create messaging and materials including press releases, media pitches, talking points, op-eds, community presentations, website and social media content and more. * Conduct media relations outreach to secure positive coverage. * Mobilize stakeholders to support client projects and policy initiatives. * Special event planning. * Attending meetings/events after hours on occasion. * Serve as day-to-day client contact. Qualifications * 2-3 years of experience at a public relations agency, political campaign, media or in-house client experience * Good working knowledge of political and business landscapes and an understanding of how they intersect. * Track record of securing media coverage for clients * Excellent oral and written communication skills * Eagerness and ability to conduct media relations follow-up calls and pitch editors/reporters/influencers * Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently on multiple active projects * Ability to anticipate and solve problems quickly * Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and with a sense of urgency * Strong organizational skills and follow-through * Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint * Proficiency with social media / digital marketing - experience with latest trends and technologies Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $50,000.00 per year Benefits: * 401(k) * 401(k) matching * Dental insurance * Health insurance * Paid time off * Parental leave * Vision insurance Schedule: * Evenings as needed * Monday to Friday Application Question(s): * Have you pitched media and secured coverage for your company or clients? * Have you used media monitoring software like Cision, Meltwater, MuckRack or other platforms? * Have you previously worked in communications, politics, media or community relations?
