Full description of the position
Do you have a passion for Audio-Visual Equipment? Do you find yourself looking at displays or listening to sound systems, and are in awe of what you are seeing and hearing? Maybe production is more your thing, and you like camcorders and seeing what people put together or filming your own videos? Do you enjoy learning about new technologies and helping people? If you were part of your high school or college theater department, have an Audio or Communications degree, and/or enjoyed working with lighting, audio, production systems and/or have hands on experience, this position may be for you. If helping people find the right microphone, speaker, camcorder, or projector, and quoting them on that equipment sounds like something you want to do, keep reading. VMI, Inc. is looking for an Inside Sales Assistant to join and assist our Sales Team. We are looking for entry to junior level people, that are energetic, positive, and results oriented, and ready to learn. VMI, Inc. is a VAR (Value Added Reseller) providing Audio-Visual and Broadcast Solutions on the West Coast. Insides Sales Assistant Job Description: * Assist outside sales staff with their quotes, by looking up pricing, reaching out to manufactures for availability, and acting as a second point of contact for the sales team * Answer incoming phone calls, and make outgoing calls to customers, sales staff, and manufacturer's. * Enter quotes, and convert quotes to orders. Place purchase orders and follow-up on customers orders, providing updates to the customer and salesperson throughout the order life cycle. * Understand product availability, and align customer expectations for meeting delivery timelines * Continually pursue sales efforts for new account prospects and development * Maintain a schedule of appointments and prospecting calls * Prospect and cold call businesses daily * Check bid sites and quote bids for audio-visual, presentation, display, and production products * Establish rapport with existing customers, and determine growth opportunities within those customers for complimentary audio-visual and production products, including repair and rental services * Meet and exceed monthly sales goals * Develop relationships with audio visual and broadcast manufacturers * Coordinated audio visual or video equipment demonstrations as needed * Assist with yearly tradeshow, including inviting manufactures to exhibit, customer to attend, and invite prospective customers * Receive in products, assist with staging products for customers and installation projects, and ship products to customer's, as needed. Qualifications for Success: * You are a reliable, self-starter, who is organized and possess superior time management, and is able to problem solve, and multi-task. * You are competitive, with a strong work ethic and the able to work independently and/or as a team member * You are passionate, enthusiast and motivated to close new business * You possess excellent verbal and written communication skills * You are able and want to provide excellent customer service * You are tech savvy, and are familiar with audio-visual and/or production product solutions and technologies. Networking products knowledge a plus. * You are knowledgeable in AV/Production products: AMX, Crestron, Extron, NEC, Panasonic, Sony, JVC etc. a plus * You must be proficient in MS Outlook email, Word, and Excel required Education/Experience * Minimum of one year of sales/customer service experience, or retail experience in a related industry supporting audio/video/visual technology, (e.g., Best Buy). * High school diploma or 3 years' related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience in audio-visual, video and/or production preferred. * Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in audio/production/video engineering, strongly encouraged to apply This is an In-Office, Full-Time Position.
