Full description of the position

Brown & Brown is seeking an Account Manager to join our Commercial Lines team in Honolulu, Hi! Built on meritocracy, our unique company culture rewards self-starters and those who are committed to doing what is best for our customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

:

  • Proficient with Agency Management System
  • Explain various coverages/products and make recommendations
  • New Business: Assist AE with marketing initiatives; Renewals: Manage the entire process
  • Handle unrouted mail, email, and phone correspondence with carriers and clients
  • Maintain expiration lists and initiate the renewal process with AE
  • Insurance Coverage Review for accounts $5,000+ revenue
  • Obtain necessary client information for marketing and binding
  • Market applications to carriers; negotiate coverages, terms, premiums
  • Accompany AE on client visits as needed (may involve travel)
  • Prepare proposals, bind orders, and transmit to clients
  • Prepare and transmit Summary of Insurance/Premium Allocation
  • Issue Binders, Auto IDs, Certificates of Insurance/EPI
  • Handle billing issues, including invoicing, cancellations, discrepancies, collections, and refunds
  • Process change requests and ensure accuracy of endorsements
  • Check policies against bind instructions and handle discrepancies
  • Timely processing of audits and handling disputes and payment issues
  • Manage claims, including obtaining necessary information and communicating with adjusters
  • Conduct contract reviews and order underwriting documents as needed
  • Obtain and manage online documents from carrier portals
  • Document Agency Management System according to company guidelines
  • Maintain client files and activities
  • Attend internal/external meetings and CE classes to maintain professional development and licensing
  • Handle incoming requests and respond to clients as needed
  • Manage select accounts independently
  • Perform according to B&B Best Practices and Profit Center guidelines
  • Train new Administrative Services Assistants Competencies:

Requirements

:

  • High school diploma
  • Positive attitude, dependability, strong work ethic, and a positive workplace culture
  • Technical knowledge of insurance coverages
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and ethical conduct
  • Professional office experience, etiquette, and appearance
  • Valid Hawaii Insurance Producer License - Property & Casualty (Life & Health if applicable) What We Offer:
