Position Summary

The Pre-Processor plays a key role in preparing incoming shipments for processing. This includes unpacking, identifying materials, staging scrap, tagging items, and maintaining a clean and safe workspace. The Pre-Processor will also support day-to-day operational needs and contribute to warehouse safety and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Unpack and examine incoming shipments to verify condition and contents
• Identify and select appropriate cleaners for equipment based on material type
• Sort, weigh, and stage scrap material appropriately
• Tag and label all products being sent to production
• Maintain inventory of supplies and submit supply orders for the department
• Execute daily tasks and work orders provided by Leads or Managers
• Ensure equipment and materials are placed in designated areas according to safety and organizational standards
• Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively, including hammers, screwdrivers, drills, Sawzalls, and blowtorches
• Operate forklifts (sit-down or stand-up), and other material handling equipment when required
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace in accordance with OSHA and MSDS/SDS standards

Qualifications

& Skills

• Previous warehouse or industrial experience preferred
• Familiarity with hand and power tools
• Ability to follow safety guidelines and work instructions
• Basic understanding of material identification and cleaning products
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods
• Forklift certification is an asset (or willingness to obtain)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team

Work Environment

This position involves physical activity in a warehouse setting. PPE may be required, and adherence to safety protocols is mandatory.
