Description:
Position Summary
: We are seeking a skilled Sales Operations Engineer with a strong background in design engineering to join a growing team in the electronics manufacturing industry. This role will bridge technical expertise and internal team collaboration, playing a key role in ensuring successful project delivery, managing team dynamics, and supporting both external customers and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a blend of technical acumen, problem-solving ability, strong communication skills, and team management experience to interface effectively with both internal teams and external clients. What You'll Do
: Technical Sales & Quoting
- Engage with customers to understand their applications and technical needs.
- Lead the quote-to-order process: technical review, pricing strategy, purchase order evaluation, and production handoff.
- Analyze designs for manufacturability and compliance with customer specs.
- Coordinate with production, supply chain, and engineering to align quotes with lead times and capabilities.
- Lead kickoff calls and technical meetings; adjust schedules to meet changing priorities. Team & Project Coordination
- Work with internal assembly teams to meet project deadlines, resolve technical issues, and support production.
- Coordinate with internal team to streamline workflows and resolve any technical or logistical issues that may arise during the project lifecycle.
- Champion cross-department collaboration to ensure smooth execution from quote through delivery.
- Share technical knowledge and support training initiatives to align teams on best practices. Customer Engagement & Business Development
- Present technical solutions with confidence--both internally and to customers.
- Build strong client relationships and identify new opportunities to expand business.
- Support proposal development and stay ahead of industry trends to strengthen quoting strategy.
- Represent the company at trade shows, customer visits, and outreach events.
Requirements
:
- Strong analytical skills for cost estimation and quoting.
- Excellent communication abilities - you can explain complex technical concepts to both customers and internal teams.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, procurement, and production teams.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and organized, capable of managing multiple projects.
- Proficiency in project management software and presentation tools (e.g., Microsoft PowerPoint, Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
- Experience with CRM systems and quoting software is a plus.
Education and Experience
:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace preferred) or a related field.
- Experience in electronics manufacturing, precision machining, Aerospace & Defense, or related industries is preferred.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and quoting software is a plus.
