The Service Technician is responsible for the high quality and effective repair of Vermeer equipment while upholding the core customer satisfaction values of the Vermeer Colorado team. You will perform diagnosis, repair, reconditioning, overhaul and maintenance of customer and company owned heavy equipment and/or components while maintaining a professional attitude, quality in workmanship, and detailed records for time, parts, supplies, purchases and repairs. Duties and Responsibilities: * Performs diagnostic inspections and services as directed * Reconditions and repairs equipment and components * Operates equipment, truck, crane, forklifts, etc in safe manner * Maintains complete and detailed working records for time, parts, supplies, and outside purchases for repairs * Maintains and cares for shop tools, all Company equipment and Company vehicles * Completes daily and monthly safety inspections as directed * Successfully meets company guidelines, including but not limited to repairs completed, time required to complete repairs, feedback from customers, ability to take guidance and direction from Manager professionally, and execute upon such feedback. * Daily use of computers and Microsoft office products * Hookup to machines and diagnose with laptop * Perform fabrication and welding processes * Perform A/C related diagnosis and repairs * Interacts professionally with customers, co-workers, and managers. * Represent Vermeer Colorado at factory, industry and company events, including meetings and trainings * Accountable for following all DOT, OSHA, and established Company policy, rules, regulations, and guidelines. * Punctual and works in a safe and efficient manner * Performs all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner Qualifications: * High School diploma or GED * Vocational training/certification is preferred * Engine certification is preferred * 3 to 5 years' mechanic experience in the same or similar industry * Owns and maintains personal tool inventory. * Previous experience in machinery or other related fields * Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills * Familiarity with industrial tools and equipment * EPA 609 certification is preferred. * Ability to handle physical workload * Mechanical/technical aptitude, safe work habits, a good working knowledge of equipment operations and mechanical functions. * Strong electronic diagnosing capabilities * Ability to work with minimal supervision, customer service oriented, a problem solver, reliable, ethical, able to adapt to the people and environment around them - customers, suppliers, co-workers and manufacturer's employees. * Experience with hydraulic systems, electrical, electronics, pneumatics, diagnosing and calibration a plus. * Communicates professionally, respectfully and honestly at all times and communication is to be clear and language is to be profanity free while employee demeanor is to be calm and composed. * Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs., stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk and hear. * Regularly exposed to extreme weather elements, including wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold and extreme heat, moving mechanical parts and equipment, and noise level in working environment can be moderate to high. * Background check and clean driving record required. * Personal appearance must be neat and clean. This position also requires a valid driver's license and the ability to meet requirements of the Company Driver Policy; Vermeer Colorado will review motor vehicle records annually for all employees for whom driving a motor vehicle is an essential job function or when employees must obtain and drive rental vehicles while conducting company business.
