Full description of the position
Role and Responsibilities The Application Engineer is a role that encompasses equipment application, equipment and auxiliary pricing, technical assistance, test lab assistance, and sales collaboration in the field. The position is responsible for providing high level application and engineering support to the Recycling, Waste, and secondary wood teams. In addition, this position will manage the coordination and pricing of equipment received from Germany. The position will actively engage in the tasks below to consistently grow and retain Vecoplan customers. Equipment Applications, quotations, coordination, and design engineering. Field support is needed for technical and design. Answers about inquiries about prices, product availability, and product application. Support with house accounts, dealers, and prospective customers to discuss products, explain product features, and solicit orders. Train team members in the customer applications of technologies. Provides assistance by generating quotes for sales. Arrange for demonstrations or trial installations of equipment. Attend trade shows and seminars to promote products or to learn about industry developments. Performs administrative duties, such as preparing application reports, and filing expense reports. Recommend products to customers, based on customer's applications and recycling goals. Works with Engineering to prepare drawings, estimates, and bids to meet customer's needs. Review sales orders for accuracy, application, equipment specification, organization and completeness. Qualifications and Education Requirements 3+ years of relational sales experience. BS in Sales, Mechanical Engineering or related field. Proven results of delivering customer solutions, meeting goals, and following through on client contracts and closures. Proven experience in technical sales or application engineering within the industrial machinery or recycling industry. Excellent verbal and written communication, and negotiation skills must be a listener, a presenter, and a people-person with ability to develop long sustaining relationships. Team player who works well individually, as well as part of a team. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Office 365, and SharePoint. Self-starter with exceptional organizational and time management skills. Preferred skills Ability to listen to and interpret the needs of customer and sales personnel. Ability to deal with the public in a professional manner. Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure. Ability to prioritize, organize effectively, and handle multiple projects and tasks. Ability to motivate others. Ability to maintain high level of self-motivation. Ability to work in a diverse and challenging atmosphere.
