For more information about our company, please visit [please apply online] This position analyzes customers' product requirements to prepare highly detailed technical cost estimates for manufactured rubber products, keeps stakeholders well informed, and collaboratively resolves any issues to meet deadlines. This role applies science and mathematical knowledge, management of projects, and professional sales and customer service skills to serve customers in a variety of industries. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or of Legal Permanent Residence status as defined by 8 U.S.C 1324b (a) (3). * Receive and review requests for customer quotations and bids from internet sources (e.g., Fed Biz Ops), customer inquiries, and outside sales staff. * Research historical cost data and apply mathematics and basic engineering principles to analyze needs. * Prepare highly detailed cost analysis by translating customer requirements and design specifications to cost estimates of material, labor, and equipment and overhead costs incurred in the manufacture of technical projects according to company guidelines. * Create drawings for projects. * Prepare profitable customer quotations or bid packages. * Negotiate pricing in cooperation with management. * Communicate regularly and directly with customers, Production, and others involved on the details of the project including issue resolution and corrective action. * Estimate date of delivery to customer. * Maintain records to support estimates/bids including technical calculations, instructions, and reports. * Develop and maintains resource information on products, vendors, industry guidelines and customer requirements. * Attend Work regularly and predictably and uphold Company values in all work aspects. Education and/or Experience Possess a bachelor's degree in engineering, Project Management or related degree that applies algebra and geometry concepts and 3 years applicable experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience to adeptly estimate technical product costs. Experience creating drawings using CAD and reading blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and specifications are required. Skills and Abilities Highly attentive to detail. Ability to gain and apply advanced estimating strategies and techniques. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and quotations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general public. Ability to present information in a professional manner in person or in writing. Understands the application of stress and load on the capacity of structures and material. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to handle multiple issues concurrently while maintaining a positive attitude toward customers and staff. Ability to give input on issues in a team atmosphere and support final team and management decisions. Working Environment This job operates in a professional office environment with frequent interruptions requiring focus and the ability to return to tasks. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners and filing cabinets. Required to work on a computer for much of the work-day and tenacity to "keep at it" to meet deadlines. From time to time, there may be slightly disagreeable features but not to a disturbing degree as in a typical office location with periodic time spent in the plant/production area. Periodic overnight travel will be required. Physical Demands Majority of responsibilities performed at the workstation require ability to talk, hear, sit, use his/her hands with coordination and precision, and see details at close range. Occasional standing, walking and reaching with hands and arms to perform filing, deliver documents to and conduct business in other departments. Required to bend and stoop occasionally while using files. Infrequently required to lift and or move up to 25 lbs.
