Overview

We are seeking a motivated and friendly Customer Service Associate / Cashier to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, providing exceptional service in a fast-paced grocery store environment. Your primary responsibilities will include handling transactions, assisting customers with their inquiries, and promoting additional products through effective upselling techniques.

Duties

• Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly and addressing their needs promptly.
• Operate the cash register and handle cash transactions accurately, ensuring all sales are processed efficiently.
• Assist customers with product selection, offering recommendations and upselling items to enhance their shopping experience.
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area while ensuring that all merchandise is properly displayed.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations throughout the store.
• Supervise junior staff when required, providing guidance and support to enhance team performance.
• Process returns and exchanges in accordance with store policies while maintaining customer satisfaction.
• Utilize basic math skills to ensure accurate cash handling and transaction processing.

Requirements

• Previous experience in customer service or cashier roles is preferred, particularly in a grocery store setting.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with customers and team members.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations for cash handling purposes.
• Experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems is advantageous.
• Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply as language skills can enhance customer interactions.
