Sales Specialist, LED Lighting PGE Territory, Bay Area HQ Hayward, CA Company Summary We are a full-service 14-year-old Energy Services Company (ESCO) seeking motivated go-getters to sell no-cost LED lighting upgrades to commercial and industrial clients. Company HQ is in Hayward; CA and you will need to be able to commute to the office for the initial training for this position. We are looking for candidates based in the PGE territories. Position Summary As an LED Lighting Sales Specialist, you will be selling and promoting LED lighting products and services, building relationships with customers, and achieving sales targets. Technical knowledge of LED technology, strong communication skills, and the ability to understand and address customer needs is highly preferred but if you are out of solar or renewables the company will be open to training you on their products. As a member of our sales team, you'll be selling LED lighting retrofits to businesses using On-Bill Financing programs. The benefits are immediate: customers save money from day one with no upfront costs. You'll be offering better lighting and instant savings--making it an easy sell with no need for high-pressure tactics. All you need to do is communicate effectively. Key Responsibilities Sales and Revenue Generation: Driving sales of LED lighting products and services to meet or exceed targets. Customer Relationship Management: Building, maintaining, and growing relationships with existing and potential customers. Technical Expertise: Understanding LED technology, products, and applications to provide technical advice and solutions to customers. Needs Assessment: Identifying and understanding customer needs and preferences to recommend appropriate LED lighting solutions. Sales Presentations and Demonstrations: Presenting product information and conducting demonstrations to showcase the benefits of LED lighting. Lead Generation and Qualification: Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, including prospecting for new customers and qualifying leads. Sales Planning and Reporting: Developing and executing sales strategies, tracking progress, and preparing sales reports. Competitive Analysis: Monitoring competitors and staying up to date on industry trends. Collaboration: Working with internal teams, such as engineering, marketing, and operations, to ensure customer needs are met. Skills and Qualifications Sales Experience : Proven experience in sales, preferably in the lighting industry or related fields. Technical Knowledge : Familiarity with LED technology, lighting design principles, and industry standards. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to build rapport and trust with customers. Customer Service Skills: Ability to provide excellent B2B customer service and address customer inquiries and concerns. Problem-Solving Skills : Ability to identify and resolve customer issues and challenges. Sales and Negotiation Skills: Strong sales skills, including the ability to negotiate contracts and close deals. Organizational Skills: Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and track sales progress. Computer Skills: Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales tools. Compensation * W2 Employee: You'll receive minimum wage on a full-time basis as a "draw" against commissions. * Generous Commission Structure : Our commission rate is 20% of the gross margin, well above the industry standard. For example, on a $200,000 project with a 40% margin, you'd earn $16,000 in commission. Many of our salespeople close multiple large projects monthly. This role has no cap on commissions. Their highest performing Sales Specialist is making over $500K per year. This role can be extremely lucrative if you are a pure salesperson. These are high ticket LED projects.
