Job Purpose: The used car sales manager has the responsible of managing the used vehicle sales staff and used vehicle inventory. The responsibility includes taking used cars into stock, reconditioning them, displaying them and work with sales staff to sell each unit at a maximum gross with minimum expense in the quickest turn time. The manger will set objectives for the department and accomplish those objectives through salesmanship, planning, organizing, marketing , controlling, and measuring. Key Responsibilities and Accountability 1. Understand that business is built on customer satisfaction and devote himself/herself to guaranteeing satisfaction of customers 2. Know and understand equity and values, and be able to explain depreciation to the customer 3. Teach, coach, train, lead and educate sales staff 4. Lead by setting a positive example 5. Work pay plans and culture to motivate sales staff 6. Complete other requirements that will include Friendly Used Vehicle Track Sheet Daily & Complete those job functions which consist of items such as: - Inspect inventory on lot and presentation of lot - Drive pending trade-in, run CarFax, check book values, appraise vehicle - Work with the service department and body shop to ensure that vehicles are reconditioned as expected and on schedule. - Prepare vehicle and paperwork for stock and display on lot - Work with outside vendors on vendor repairs of vehicles - Review websites and website inventory posting - Work weekly on used vehicle advertising - Review forecast, accomplishment of forecast and Daily Doc - Attend and prepare for weekly manager's meetings - Attend auctions (online and live) and work with wholesalers - Monitor daily traffic count, desk working deals and 2nd face presentation within VinSolutions - Book out finalized deals and commissions - Complete month end closing Scale and Scope of Employment: Used vehicle manager works with used vehicle sales staff, BDC manager, general manager, service manager and parts manager by helping close new vehicle trades, servicing of used vehicles and buying parts. Used vehicle manager also works with lease return department.
