Sales Manager, The Orchard Hotels, San Francisco The Orchard Hotel and the Orchard Garden Hotel are San Francisco's Most Elegant and Eco-Friendly Luxury Boutique Hotels. Our hotels feature beautifully appointed accommodations, exceptional personalized service and luxurious amenities for upscale leisure and business travelers. We are a collegial, supportive team of highly motivated, friendly hospitality professionals who enjoy making others happy. We are currently recruiting for a highly motivated, determined, well-spoken and experienced Sales Manager who is suited by temperament and ability to generate new, high-rated business in all segments--with a priority on high end corporate and leisure--appropriate to the exclusive, luxury experience offered by our Hotels. As a Sales Manager, you'll be primarily responsible for ensuring that revenue goals are achieved or exceeded by soliciting, developing and closing new business, while also tending to current clients with a high degree of professionalism. Key responsibilities of a Sales Manager include: * Responsible for meeting or exceeding revenue goals in assigned market segments for two hotels in San Francisco * Conduct prospecting calls daily to uncover and qualify new high end business leads * Make regular outside sales calls to sell to new prospective clients and further develop relationships with existing clients * Negotiating contracts, ensuring that all pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented * Identifying new business that fits sales parameters * Consistently making prospecting calls * Aggressively pursuing new accounts on a weekly basis * Consistently booking repeat business * Developing long term business relationships * Making on-site and field presentations to prospective clients * Consistently meeting or exceeding sales goals * Following through to ensure logistical and other requirements are in place for groups and other special bookings; also preparing special guest amenities and ensuring appropriate room assignments for VIP bookings. This is an important aspect of tending our clients and following through. Job Requirements * StayNTouch reservations system experience is a plus * A minimum of 2 years sales experience, including significant recent achievement in hotel sales, and local market knowledge preferred * Prefer 2 years working in hotel sales in an upscale boutique or independent hotel * Bay Area experience a plus * Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills. * Demonstrated ability to effectively move through the sales process. * Comfortable presenting features and benefits of hotels to corporate travel managers, consortia and groups large and small. * Promote teamwork and positive work environment. * A "can-do" attitude with a calm, organized approach in all situations. * Be the expert in the market and leverage hotel's strengths against the competition. * Excellent time management and organization skills * Comfort and confidence working with laptop/iPad and all related software * Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook * Strong customer service skills * Excellent listening and follow up skills * Ability to assume responsibility and provide accountability * Creative problem-solving skills Job Type: Full-time Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year Benefits: * 401(k) * 401(k) matching * Cell phone reimbursement * Dental insurance * Disability insurance * Health insurance * Life insurance * Paid time off * Vision insurance Schedule: * Monday to Friday Experience: * hotel industry and local market knowledge preferred: 3 years (Required) * upscale boutique or independent hotel: 2 years (Required) Work Location: In personThe Orchard Hotel
