Full description of the position

JOB SUMMARY: The General Sales Manager of our RID Division plays a key leadership role in driving revenue growth, profitability, and market share for a vibrant spirits portfolio, including Sazerac, Tito's, Pernod Ricard, William Grant and many other industry-leading, innovative and emerging brands. This position oversees divisional strategy, manages a high-performing sales team, fosters supplier relationships, and ensures alignment with corporate goals. The ideal candidate combines strategic vision with hands-on leadership to deliver measurable results. The GM is responsible for achieving all gross profit goals and Performance and Business metrics set forth annually. Core Job Functions * Oversee daily, weekly, monthly, and fiscal year sales performance to meet and exceed corporate objectives * Develop and implement divisional strategies that drive sales, profitability, and employee growth & development * Manage all aspects of the sales and marketing functions across assigned sales division to include supervising the sales force, developing and maintaining customer relationships, proactively managing Supplier Partners and personnel. * Manage and develop supplier partnerships to help achieve mutual business objectives, execute all defined selling activity, and improve market development of the defined portfolio of brands at retail * Actively Work with the other functional areas of the business to ensure effective management of the business priorities to include: On-premise sales team, merchandising, field marketing, marketing services, purchasing, Supplier coordinators, and customer service. * Deliver and increase divisional profits through consistent and disciplined focus around the key business metrics that include pricing and margin mgmt., inventory mgmt., accurate forecasts, A&P budget mgmt., AR focus, cost center expenses, and all other input factors that improve the overall financial performance of the business * Hire, train, and lead sales personnel to ensure alignment with divisional goals * Demonstrated success in achieving sales goals and developing talent * Financial acumen, including budget management, forecasting and pricing expertise * Strong presentation and negotiation skills * *Key Accountabilities and Workstreams * Develop and analyze programs to support sales objectives, initiatives, and customer satisfaction with portfolio managers and suppliers * Plan and execute weekly sales team meetings to assist, direct, and educate them to become more effective in the trade to include channel divisions * Complete performance updates and analysis for the sales team on a timely basis and utilize this information to improve the overall performance of the sales teams * Consistently identify opportunities to reduce costs, optimize margins and improve the overall financial performance of the division * Effectively communicate across the organization to include supplier issues and changes, product and brand information, pricing information, programs etc * Keep informed of all competitive activity in the trade, on sale promotions, off sale pricing and special events in your area. Communicate activity to management and make recommendations to keep the Company competitive. * Manage accounts receivable and support sales team in the collection of past due accounts and guide salesperson of customer consequence for non-payments in accordance with Company policy. * Leadership Requirements * Visionary Thinking: Ability to set a clear, inspiring vision for the division, aligning teams with long-term company objectives while adapting to industry trends and market shifts. * Strategic Decision-Making: Demonstrates strong judgment and problem-solving skills, making data-driven decisions to navigate challenges and seize growth opportunities. * Results-Driven Accountability: Set clear KPIs and sales targets, monitor performance, and hold teams accountable for delivering results while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence. * Empowerment & Team Development: Invests in people by empowering teams, fostering professional growth, and cultivating a culture of accountability, inclusivity, and success. * Effective Communication: Excels in transparent, motivational communication to align teams, foster collaboration, and build trust with internal and external stakeholders. * MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: * Bachelor's Degree in related field and 5-7 years sales experience * Proven ability to develop and effectively lead direct reports. * Ability to organize and execute plans. * Creativity in regard to problem solving and acting on opportunity * Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook as well as sales data tools * Ability to travel as needed for presentations, training, and events * LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Valid Driver's License Limited travel may be necessary. Rhode Island State license to sell liquor necessary. TIPS Certification
