Full description of the position

A Book Clerk/ Lead assists customers in a bookstore by managing books, maintaining inventory, and providing customer service. Their main goal is to help people find and access the books or resources they need between 1-3 store locations.

Key Responsibilities

:

• Greet and assist customers or patrons.
• Recommend books based on customer preferences or requests.
• Organize, shelve, and restock books.
• Handle check-ins and check-outs (in libraries).
• Operate the cash register or POS system (in bookstores).
• Maintain knowledge of current book trends and new arrivals.
• Perform inventory checks and place orders for out-of-stock titles.

• 1 year + retail sales and/or cash handling experience
• Excellent communication and people skills
• Ability to multitask and problem solve
• TAM Card may be required depending upon location
