Solar Sales Program Outline * Program Duration: 3 months (Summer) * Goal: Develop entry-level candidates into successful solar sales representatives. Phase 1: Solar Appointment Setter * Role: Generate leads and schedule appointments for qualified clients. * Responsibilities: * Door-to-door canvassing in assigned territories. * Educate homeowners on basic solar benefits. * Collect contact information, electric bills, and qualify leads. * Schedule appointments for solar consultations. * Meet weekly lead generation quotas. * Attend weekly team meetings and monthly events. * Skills Developed: * Clear communication and interpersonal skills. * Resilience and persistence. * Basic solar energy knowledge. * Time management and organization.. * Requirements: * Outgoing and friendly personality. * Reliable transportation. (this can be worked out on a case to case basis) * Willingness to work outdoors. * Self motivation and creative problem solving. Phase 2: Solar Sales Consultant + Setter * Role: Generate leads and conduct in-home/virtual solar consultations, create proposals, and close sales. * Responsibilities: * Conduct comprehensive solar needs assessments. * Design and present customized solar proposals. * Address customer concerns and answer technical questions. * Negotiate contracts and close sales. * Follow up with customers post-sale. * Skills Developed: * Advanced solar energy knowledge. * Sales presentation and negotiation skills. * Proposal development and contract management. * Customer relationship management. * Requirements: * Proven sales aptitude * In-depth knowledge of solar systems and financing. * Excellent presentation and closing skills. General Skills Gained After the Summer Sales Program: * Product Knowledge: Understand solar technology, installation processes, and financing options. * Communication Skills: Effectively communicate the benefits of solar energy and financing to potential customers. * Sales Skills: Persuasion, and closing techniques. * Customer Service: Build rapport, address concerns, and provide excellent service and education. * Technical Aptitude: Basic understanding of solar designing and technical knowledge. * Computer Skills: CRM software, proposal generation, and basic computer operations. Job Requirements for Solar Sales Positions: * Education: High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred. * Experience: Prior sales or canvassing experience is a plus but not required. * Physical Requirements: Ability to work outdoors, stand, and walk for long periods of time. * Background Check: Companies often conduct background checks on sales employees.
