About ChopAir: We are a customer-centric, social, and fun group as we started the business 4-years ago to do things different. After doubling in revenue each of the last 4-years, we would say we are doing something right. Right now, we are focused on growing our new construction, or plan & spec, sales and are looking to bring on the right person that will enjoy growing with us. Culture Index Survey Link: [please apply online] Job Opportunity: Commercial HVAC Proposal Engineer What is a "Inside Sales Engineer"? It's a fancy way to say Estimator or Inside Sales. You are working on the sales team to help the Outside Sales Engineers sell more. When the Outside Sales Engineers sell more, you make more because of the profit-sharing plan. So your job is to accurately quote all of the commercial HVAC equipment on a new construction project and then work with the Outside Sales Engineer to put together a competitive price and service offering for the customer. You'll probably like this job if you like to...... * read and pay attention to detail * learning new things * plug and chug on a keyboard * solve puzzles * catch engineers errors and offer solutions * compete on jobs with teammates What if I want to be an Outside Sales Engineer? Whelp... you've got to do this job first. There is no better way to learn the business than doing project takeoffs. Where do I need to live and where do I work? We would prefer you to live in Kansas City because that is where the HQ is located. We just completed a build out 1,600 SQFT of office (ping pong, darts, grill, etc). We are open to a hybrid work schedule after a few months on the job because: (1) wherever you get your work done is your business - the work either gets done or does not get done and there is no hiding that; and (2) again, work either gets done or it doesn't. What are the preferred qualifications? * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering would be awesome. Don't care if you are fresh out of school. Jake and Shelby have so much knowledge and are great teachers. Just be ready to work and you will get the hang of things. * OR experience in estimating. That would be a bonus. What would be my compensation? * Salary * Profit-Sharing Plan * 50% of Health Benefits * Unlimited PTO (let us know when you need a break - we are all human and need them) What about 401k? Our plan is to add a 401k in 2026. Everyone voted on a profit-sharing plan over a 401k plan in 2025. We are a small but growing company so these things take time!
