E lliott Electric Supply is hiring for a new position at our Kansas City, MO location. Due to growth at this location we need to add additional staff. This new person will primarily be a warehouse position but will also be required to be a backup driver and will be trained to backup our counter sales operation. This is a great opportunity for an entry level position geared towards upward movement and training. Duties * Supports the day to day operations of the Branch providing order and delivery services. Responsible for all aspects of warehouse functions including the receiving, storing, handling, shipping and preparing of product for customer delivery while maintaining the warehouse in a safe and orderly fashion. * Support warehouse operations by transporting materials over designated routes; ensuring safe operation of vehicles. Provide excellent customer service by making prompt and courteous deliveries of orders. Ensure that material loaded on the truck is as listed on the Ship Ticket and Delivery Manifest and is secured for safe transport from store to destination. Unload materials for customers at each delivery location in an orderly fashion while verifying that material is correct based on the Ship Ticket. Perform daily detailed inspection of vehicle to ensure general maintenance and safety of vehicle. Responsible for all aspects of warehouse functions including the receiving, storing, handling, shipping and preparing products for customer delivery while maintaining the warehouse in an orderly fashion. * The Counter Sales Person is responsible for providing assistance to customers during the sales/purchase process and for responding to customer inquiries in a professional manner. Maintain an awareness of all product knowledge information (including product catalogs, price sheets, etc.), product promotions and advertisements. Markets all products sold and suggests replacement/alternative products when appropriate. This is a safety-sensitive position, the ability to work in a constant state of awareness and in a safe manner is imperative. Candidates offered employment must undergo a pre-employment drug test. The test screens for drugs including amphetamines, cocaine, marijuana, methamphetamines, opiates, oxycodone, and phencyclidines, following the cutoff levels set by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). Qualifications * Physical Requirements: Able to move/lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted. Able to withstand extreme temperatures in a typical warehouse environment Position spends a large amount of time standing, walking, lifting, pulling and pushing. Position may require climbing of ladders for top-level selection Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Occasional lifting of up to 75 pounds. * High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Valid Driver's License in state of residence with 3 years driving history. Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record with no type A violation; or no more than (1) type B violation in past (3) years. Previous experience operating a commercial motor vehicle with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 10,001 lbs. or more. Read, comprehend, write, perform calculations, input accurately, reason, and analyze. Function independently, completing various tasks accurately with close attention to detail. Physical Requirements: Frequent driving is required in all types of weather conditions. Must adhere to the proper safety regulations since there will be occasional exposure to events such as excessive noise and moving machinery. Frequently walk, bend, squat, climb, kneel, pushing, pulling, and reaching. Regular handling of objects and lifting of up to 75 pounds. Physically qualified to drive a motor vehicle by the medical qualification standards in Sec. 391.41. A Department of Transportation physical exam will be conducted by a licensed medical examiner. The USDOT's Drug and Alcohol Testing Regulation, 49 CFR Part 40, at 40.151(e), does not authorize 'medical marijuana' under state law as a valid medical explanation for a transportation employee's positive drug test result.
