Overview

We are seeking a motivated and friendly Cashier/Sales Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for customers, providing exceptional service while efficiently handling transactions. You will work in a fast-paced bakery store environment, ensuring that customers have a positive shopping experience. Your ability to communicate effectively and manage cash handling duties will be essential to your success in this position.

Duties

• Operate the cash register accurately and efficiently during customer transactions.
• Process sales transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing.
• Assist customers with inquiries and provide information about products and services.
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area to enhance the customer experience.
• Stock shelves and ensure that merchandise is displayed attractively.
• Supervise and train new staff members as needed, fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Utilize basic math skills to perform retail math calculations for pricing and discounts.
• Communicate effectively with customers, addressing any concerns or issues promptly.
• Adhere to all store policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a bakery store or retail environment is preferred but not mandatory.
• Proficiency in cash register operation and cash handling procedures.
• Strong phone etiquette for effective communication with customers over the phone.
• Basic math skills for accurate transaction processing and inventory management.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage positively with customers and team members alike.
• A proactive approach to stocking shelves and maintaining inventory levels is highly valued.
