About Us: Sports and Imports Autos is a growing used car dealership established 20 years ago with 5 convenient locations in Buford, Gainesville, Stone Mountain, Jonesboro, and Marietta Georgia. We carry a wide selection of used cars, as well as trucks, vans, SUVs, and crossover vehicles. We help drivers get financing for a vehicle, regardless of their credit history. Portfolio Manager/Collections Department Manager: Located at our Stone Mountain dealership, our Collections Manager will oversee a team of 10+ collections agents and is responsible for managing the collections process for receivables of an over $50 Million business. Their responsibilities are strategic, administrative, and leadership-based, ensuring that the company or organization is efficiently recovering debts while maintaining compliance with relevant laws and preserving customer relationships. Responsibilities * Lead, motivate, and train a team of collection agents, ensuring they meet or exceed set performance goals, quality standards, and customer service expectations. * Ensure ongoing development of the collections team by providing coaching, training, and professional development opportunities. * Review and manage active accounts to monitor payments, assess customer financial situations, and determine appropriate collection actions. * Develop and implement strategies to reduce delinquency rates, improve payment recovery, and minimize charge-offs. * Oversee the collections budget, ensuring that the department operates within financial constraints. * Ensure all collections practices comply with relevant federal and state regulations, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), and company policies. * Prepare reports on collections performance and trends for upper management. * Handle and resolve escalated customer concerns, disputes, and complex cases that require higher-level intervention. * Identify potential risks to the company's receivables portfolio and develop risk mitigation strategies to protect the business from bad debt. * Coordinate with 3rd party vendors to effectively process customer repairs. * Other Duties as assigned by management Skills * At least 2 years of collection management experience. * Proficiency in analyzing collections metrics (e.g., recovery rates, aging reports) to track performance and identify trends. * Ability to analyze complex financial data and develop strategies to improve debt recovery while managing risk. * Strong ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and persuasively with clients, team members, and other departments. * Ability to manage a budget, forecast revenue, and monitor costs to ensure efficient operations. * Comfortable working in a goal-oriented environment * Ability to defuse tense situations and turn negative interactions into positive outcomes * Understanding of relevant laws and regulations (e.g., FDCPA, GDPR, state-specific regulations) to ensure all collections activities are compliant. * Ability to embrace and adapt to changes, such as evolving processes, systems, and organizational growth * Ability to prioritize tasks, delegate effectively, and manage multiple collections efforts at once. * Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle stressful situations professionally. * Bachelor's degree is required * Ability to pass background check Additional Benefits * Hourly based wages plus commission/bonuses * Closed on Sundays Job Type: Full-time Pay: $90,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year Benefits: * Dental insurance * Health insurance * Paid time off * Vision insurance Schedule: * Weekends as needed Work Location: In personSports & Imports Auto Sales
