Full description of the position

Looking for a leasing agent to facilitate rental and lease agreements for apartment properties.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide information about the property and the community for prospective clients.
  • Obtains client signatures on leasing agreements that are acceptable to the property owner.
  • Greet visitors at the properties and answers questions.
  • Explain leasing policies to prospective renters.
  • Maintain all paperwork such as applications, agreements, credit and employment checks and move-in packages.
  • Handle client service requests.
  • Correspond with maintenance personnel for move in and move out of tenants.
  • Evaluate and determine if the tenant qualifies for leasing.
  • Conducts background checks on prospective tenants.
  • Maintain current information on all aspects of property including size, special features, expiration of current leasing agreements and pricing.
  • Determine zoning issues, school districts, expansion plans and area crime rates for potential clients.
  • Verify information on leasing applications.
  • Review leasing contracts with tenants and obtain all required signatures.
  • Deliver keys for properties to the tenant in a timely manner.
  • Collects rents and deposits from tenant.

Education and Experience

  • Experience in Apartment sales or management.
  • Certification in risk management, real estate and other areas associated with leasing from professional organizations like the National Apartment Association or the National Association of Realtors.
