Sales Representative Portland Presents

Portland Presents, the premier program book showcasing Northern New Englands leading arts and entertainment organizationsincluding Portland Ovations, Portland Symphony Orchestra, Portland Stage, and Merrill Auditoriumis seeking a dynamic and motivated Sales Representative.

About the Role

This commission-based sales position offers an exciting opportunity to connect local and regional businesses with highly engaged, upscale audiences through cost-effective advertising. You will be responsible for prospecting, cultivating, and closing advertising sales for Portland Presents annual program guide, which reaches four premiere performance audiences across Portland. This is a year-round, remote position, with fluctuations in output based on the sales cycle. Sales primarily occur in the fall and into the spring, with year-round relationship management. This position reports to a leadership team of representatives from the four invested organizations.

Key Responsibilities

        Identify and secure new advertisers while maintaining relationships with existing partners.

        Meet annual sales goals set by leadership team

        Communicate the value of Portland Presents advertising opportunities to prospective clients.

        Manage the full sales cycle, from outreach to contract and follow-up.

        Provide excellent customer service to advertisers

Compensation

This is a commission-only contract position with strong earning potential, typically generating over $200,000 in annual sales. The position offers a starting commission of 10%, with negotiable rates on all advertising revenue you generate. Please note this role does not include benefits. Sales Representative is expected to use their own equipment.

What Were Looking For

        Self-starter with strong sales or customer relationship experience.

        Excellent communication and organizational skills.

        Knowledge of the local business and arts community a plus.

        Ability to work independently and meet sales goals.
