We are seeking a motivated and passionate Sales Representative to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in horticulture, excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to build and maintain customer relationships. This role is crucial for our continued growth, as you will be the primary point of contact for our customers, helping them find the perfect plants for their projects and ensuring their satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Customer Engagement: Greet and assist customers in a friendly, knowledgeable, and professional manner. Answer questions about plant species, care requirements, and pricing.
• Sales Generation: Actively promote and sell a wide range of cacti, succulents, and related products. Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate plants and products to meet their goals.
• Relationship Management: Build and nurture long-term relationships with both new and existing wholesale and retail clients. Follow up on inquiries and orders to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Order Processing: Accurately process sales transactions, including cash, credit card, and invoice payments. Prepare and pack orders for pickup or delivery.
• Product Knowledge: Continuously expand your knowledge of our plant inventory, including species names, growth habits, care instructions, and ideal growing conditions.

Job Qualifications and Experience:

• An energetic/motivated self-starter who enjoys the sales process
• Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize with excellent organizational skills
• Friendly, pleasant, upbeat, courteous, and professional
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
• Plant experience is a bonus
• Willingness to learn plant identification within the first 60 days
• Spanish speaking is a bonus
• Knowledge of QuickBooks is preferred
• Complete and pass a Criminal Background Check

Schedule, Pay, and Benefits:

• This is a full-time, on-site position at our nursery. Standard work hours are Monday-Friday, with seasonal adjustments: Summer (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM), Winter (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM).
• Sales representatives are paid a commission on their sales, as well as an hourly rate, monthly sales bonuses, and an annual bonus.
• New hires receive 30 days of on-the-job training followed by a 60-day opportunity to build clientele business. During these 90 days, the new hire receives a guaranteed salary before switching to commission sales and the opportunity to earn monthly sales bonuses. The starting pay for the first 90 days is an hourly rate of $16.50/hour as well as a bi-weekly salary of $800.
• Once the 90-day training period has ended, pay becomes heavily commission-based with potential first-year earnings of $80k-$100k. Those who are sales-driven or have prior experience within the nursery and landscape industry have the potential to earn even more.
• Accounts varying from large to small will be given to you. You are expected to continue growing these accounts, as well as bringing in new business.
