GENERAL SUMMARY * Directly manage daily service requirements for assigned accounts/territory. * Ensure effective coverage for all assigned accounts, working with Wood and Metal Industrial Coatings. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Manage daily service requirements for assigned accounts/territory to reduce sales or management support needs. * Support planned sales and profitability objectives for assigned accounts/territory and overall business. * Oversee all service activities within assigned territory/accounts, including: * On-site product testing and refinement * Training and development for customer personnel * Resolving product and process issues * Timely and directed process documentation * Auditing processes * Additional service requirements as directed * Maintain effective communication with the company's laboratory through: * Complete and detailed Lab Work Requests * Documentation of trial results for all new products * Submission of key activity reports and line surveys * Regularly report activities and accomplishments to the Regional Sales Manager and others, including: * Monthly reports and activity summaries * Updates on competitor activities in the marketplace and at key accounts * Represent the company professionally at trade shows, industry organizations, and company functions. * Maintain residence within the assigned territory. QUALIFICATIONS E erience and Education * High school graduate or equivalent required * 4-year degree preferred * Minimum 5 years of related finishing or laboratory formulation experience * Professional training through business or professional seminars S cific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Strong motivational and facilitation skills * Excellent interpersonal and leadership abilities * Strong analytical and organizational abilities * Exceptional verbal and written communication skills * High scoring on color examination tests * Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software * Ability to assess performance objectively and address issues * Self-motivated, proactive, and confident work ethic * Creative problem-solving skills for business and group needs * Comfortable traveling as required for the role REASONING ABILITY * Comprehend technology applications and uses * Exhibit outstanding problem-solving and critical-thinking skills CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS * Valid driver's license PHYSICAL DEMANDS * Regular activities include walking, standing, bending, stooping, grasping, handling, talking, and hearing. * Must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 100 pounds. * Frequent bending, squatting, and stooping required. * Position involves sitting, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, and kneeling. * Ability to meet physical demands of frequent travel to customer sites. WORK ENVIRONMENT * Typical manufacturing environment with moderate solvent odors and normal hazards of coatings application. * Duties performed at customer manufacturing facilities, corporate offices, labs, and distribution facilities. * Personal protective equipment provided, with adherence to HMIS and MSDS safety guidelines. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPI) * Achieve 100% or more of monthly, quarterly, and annual service plans. * Encourage and assist in increasing sales volume. * Expand knowledge of company policies, products, and programs. * Demonstrate initiative for professional advancement. * Attend meetings and classes to improve job-related skills. * Maintain an excellent attendance record.
