Full description of the position
We at Bohemia Interactive Simulations are a well-established company specializing in the development of world-leading, game-based military simulations for major NATO powers and their allies. Our mission is to advance the industry by leveraging the latest technologies and trends, including whole-world simulation, virtual reality, motion tracking, and AI. We are seeking an experienced Senior Solutions Architect to join our team. The Senior Solution Architect (SA) Designs, architects, proposes, and articulates commercially exploitable and immediately actionable solutions for our customers incorporating BISim and Pitch technologies. The SA is a technical subject matter expert in BISim's simulation and training capabilities and technology and has a strong technical expertise with board coverage across BISim's products, simulation, training, and the Defence enterprise. The SA works closely with the BISim Business Development, Engineering, and Product Management teams to architect solutions for existing and/or potential military, government, and industry customers. The SA will initially engage with external stakeholders and customers to demonstrate our products as BISim Subject Matter Expert (SME), going on to, design compelling technical solutions that compliant are commercially exploitable. The SA manages and nurtures the relationship between BISim and its key customers with active opportunities, ensuring that the technical aspects of our solution align with the customer's and BISim's needs and objectives. The SA demonstrates effective written and verbal communication between internal and external, technical and commercial, experts and in-experts on BISim's capabilities and technologies. The SA also has the experience and aptitude to understand customers' training use cases and training objectives and ideally has exposure to the defense industry, situation, and culture. This is a senior-level position; the successful candidate would be expected to lead by example with other SAs and work to high proficiency levels on the most demanding of tasks. The successful candidate should demonstrate all of the below Key Areas of Responsibilities, Objectives, Skills, Education and Experience and Additional Attributes to a a proven and high standard. Key Areas of Responsibility: * Client Interaction: Able to engage directly with industry and military clients to understand and gather training and technical requirements and showcase the functionality of existing BISim products. * Technical Expertise: Possess a deep understanding of BISim's products, services and integrated solutions. Understands the customer's needs and translates them into comprehensive technical solutions. * Communication: Facilitating clear and effective technical and commercially minded communication between the customer and internal teams, including sales, engineering, finance, executives and product management. * Requirements Gathering: Collaborates with customers to gather and understand their technical requirements and designs compelling and competitive solutions. Ensures that BISim's solutions meet or exceed those requirements and that all stakeholders in BISim (Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and Product Management) have an agreed understanding of the solution. * Solutions Design: Designs and presents technical solutions, conducts product demonstrations, and collaborates with the sales team to ensure the proposed solution meets client requirements. * Commercial Awareness: Essential for effectively aligning technical solutions with the specific needs and objectives/constraints/realities of both BISim's and the customer's businesses in an actionable, deliverable, and realistic schedule that maximizes cash flow. * Writing: Possess strong writing skills to succinctly and articulately describe BISim's technical solutions, benefits, and commercials within proposals and presentations (internal and external) * Organized: Are highly organized and operate at high levels of efficiency to ensure the continuous management of multiple opportunity responses that require varied outputs. * Implementation Support: Involved in the initial design, implementation, and acceptance stages. * Technical Leadership: This role works with internal teams to ensure successful delivery during pre-sales.Typically, it takes a leadership role in technical decision-making, guides development teams, and ensures that the architecture meets performance, scalability, and security requirements. * Sales and Development Process: Ensure adherence to the defined opportunity response process, embodying standardized project management methodologies, processes, and templates to promote staff culture, consistency, and efficiency. * Technical Expertise: Provide the sales organization and customers with strong, current, and demonstrable technical expertise in BISim's products. * Internal Awareness: Diligently maintain awareness of i) BISim business and technical aspirations and ii) internal department stakeholders' processes/objectives. * Solution Design skills: Provide strong technical judgment to analyze requirements to propose commercially exploitable solutions, ensuring they are not over-specified while identifying 'inferred requirements' and avoiding analysis paralysis. An "ok" solution now is better than a great solution in the future. * Commercial Awareness: Interacts with customers as a trusted advisor while exercising sound commercial and business judgment for the BISim. Due to commercial awareness, is an outwards and inwards-facing ambassador for BISim, promoting our products and technology. * Technical Writing and Communications: Demonstrates strong technical proposal writing skills and the ability to articulate complex and sophisticated concepts and topics to a broad spectrum of stakeholders. Able to give clear and understandable messages to various stakeholders through slides, briefings, presentations, and white papers. * Balanced Judgment: Apply pragmatic judgments and experience to balance trade-offs between internal company objectives and our customers' needs to offer mutually beneficial proposals and solutions. * Domain Knowledge: Possess a broad understanding of the Defence, simulation, and training industry and domain from both a user and external/third-party technology perspective. Skills: * Effective and confident verbal and written communication. * Strong technical competence and subject matter knowledge in Defense, Simulation and Training. * Solutions architecture with systems engineering principles. * A scientific, logical and pragmatic approach to problem-solving. * Ability to ingest technical data and knowledge. * Formal technical writing training or relevant experience in proposal writing and development. * Excellent customer relationship management. * Technical project management. * Excellent analytical skills. * Ability to understand and then evangelize BISim's products (including demonstrating products). Education and Experience: * Degree level or above in numerate, physics or computer science field or or equivalent work experience * Experience in simulation technology (hardware and software). * Customer requirements management. * Experience in solutions architecture and systems engineering principles. * In-depth knowledge of computer hardware and software. * Detailed knowledge of software development process and principles. * Experience in the defense simulation industry would be beneficial. * Practical use of VBS or other COTS simulation software applications in military simulation would be beneficial.
