Full description of the position
The Energy Regional Sales Manager at Valley Wide Cooperative holds a position of significant importance, reporting directly to the Vice President of the Energy Division. This role involves leading a team responsible for prospecting, developing, and nurturing relationships with businesses and industry entities. Additionally, the Energy Regional Sales Manager will ensure customer satisfaction by coordinating with customer service and technical personnel, negotiating and closing new sales agreements to meet productivity and sales goals, and contributing to and implementing company and local marketing plans to continually increase our customer base and gallon volumes. Job Summary: These are the basic requirements of the position and must be performed competently by the manager and team. * Lead and manage a team to develop new sales leads by prospecting and pursuing targeted new business within the assigned territory. * Guide the team in negotiating and closing new sales agreements to increase the customer base year over year. * Oversee the team's follow-up on sales leads, including calls, visits to potential customers, mailings, and other related activities. * Manage the sales team's interactions using a customer relationship management (CRM) tool, such as Salesforce. * Ensure the team negotiates and closes sales contracts and service agreements effectively. * Partner with Regional Management and Location Operations Leadership to aggressively pursue business opportunities. * Work with Operations Leadership to ensure that sales actions align with location and company goals and objectives. * Champion a positive, professional image of Valley Wide Cooperative to create customer goodwill and foster referrals and repeat business. * Follow up with new accounts to ensure customer satisfaction and fulfillment of the job. * Provide training and mentorship to employees to enhance their sales skills. * Perform other duties as assigned. ESSENTIAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES: * Minimum of 5 years Business to Business sales experience. * Some college or equivalent in experience & education; Business related bachelor's degree preferred. * Excellent verbal communication skills including the ability to negotiate and convincingly persuade others. * Professional and articulate with an enthusiastic and positive attitude. * Industry knowledge preferred but not required. * Basic understanding of oil and gas fired appliances and related distribution systems (training is provided). * Excellent relationship building, prospecting, presentation and selling skills. * Ability to generate leads by any available means including, but not limited to networking, third party business partners and cold calls.Valley Wide Cooperative
