Applications Engineer Located in beautiful Newburyport Massachusetts, Boston Conveyor and Automation (BCA) has brought together a very experienced and successful team to focus on the automation process in the food manufacturing, life science and general manufacturing industries. Due to rapid growth, BCA is in need of an Application Engineer. This is a perfect position for an engineer who likes to collaborate and create customized systems. Must be knowledgeable in machine and process design with strong SolidWorks skills. Our custom machines are designed, built and tested at our facility in beautiful Newburyport MA. Responsibilities * Prepare equipment & system proposals as required by Sales team * Prepare Customized/Modified Machine Layout Drawings and Insert Machines into Customer's Line Drawings * Create and propose concepts for the customer which align with market trends and promote development of standard product lines * Review customer required safety and electrical specifications * Prepare accurate cost estimations for proposals * Secure OEM proposals from outside vendors as required * Support outside selling activities * Coordinate with the customer and BCA sales team to ensure all information needed to execute a proposal is available * Understand customer decision making process and criteria * Respond to customer inquiries in a timely, professional manner * Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers, vendors and other stakeholders * Travel as required Qualifications: * 3-5 years' experience in quoting or engineering of highly engineered capital equipment * Degree or Technical Education in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with focus on Robotics, Automation and controls (or equivalent experience) * Highly customer focused * Strong organizational ability, able to set priorities and meet deadlines * Advanced level of computer skills (Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, SolidWorks) Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $75,000.00 per year Benefits: * 401(k) matching * Dental insurance * Health insurance * Life insurance * Paid time off * Vision insurance Schedule: * 8 hour shift * Monday to Friday * Overtime Application Question(s): * Are you willing to travel as required? * Are you willing to undergo a background check?
