JOB SUMMARY: Provide leadership and guidance to their assigned Application Engineering group for day-to-day tactical decisions and assist in executing strategic initiatives. Provide elevated technical sales support, application and design assistance, quotations for thermal solutions, and manage projects. JOB REQUIREMENTS: * Coordinates activities of personnel engaged in Application engineering group to meet group objectives for monthly performance. * Track and proactively manage performance to individual and group MBO's for productivity, cost reduction, and margin improvement targets. * Execute strategic projects to achieve and MBO's and other corporate initiatives. * Assist in integrating the AE function globally through process improvement and process standardization. * Provide guidance to all customer service and application engineers on technical and pricing issues for related product group. * Understand markets and competition in each market to manage quotation of competitive designs and costs. * Resolves customer complaints regarding equipment, supplies, and services. * Coordinates quotation and order entry activities with sales force, engineering, and plant including samples and drawings for approval. * Assist field sales engineers by providing expertise to offer optimal thermal solution for unique process applications. * Determines requirement for materials and related cost for product designs by working with engineering and purchasing departments. * Manage pricing and margin targets for key accounts and new opportunities. * Develop detailed proposals for standard and custom thermal solutions. * Assist sales and marketing in developing short and long-range strategies for increasing sales, providing better customer service and promoting Chromalox brand awareness. * Assist Sales in meeting profitable sales and growth objectives for department. * Assist customers and representatives in trouble-shooting problems with equipment or applications. * Assist Sales by making joint sales calls with local office to promote products and secure key projects. * Provide training to sales organization for all products * Support sales and marketing by providing assistance with literature, training manuals and instruction sheets. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: * Education: Bachelor's Degree in engineering or other appropriate technical degree or equivalent experience required. Advanced degree (engineering or business) preferred. * Experience: 5+ years of related experience * Skills: Team leader and manager. Management experience including hiring, creating and implementing processes and procedures. Project management experience including writing engineering specifications, managing contract services and customer interface responsibilities. * Travel: Position may require travel to customer locations and requires time on site in Cary, IL.
