Full description of the position

The primary objective for this position is to promote company services in metal roofing, metal walls, and metal soffits/ceiling for a leading manufacturer via proactive approach. This position will respond to customer inquiries, assist the outside sales team, order entry, follow up on project progress, and supporting technical services. The candidate will have strong relationship building and listening skills that will form an understanding with our partners and prospects to align our value proposition with the needs of our customers. This self-starter will be independent and have strong communication, writing, and follow up skills. Common customers this position deals with are installers, builders, general contractors, and architects/engineers. They will also Assists in front office duties, run production reports, documents maintenance schedules that are in compliance with ISO guidelines. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Generates new and repeat sales by providing product and technical information in a timely manner. * Ability to understand blueprints and specifications. * Acts as a liaison between customers and various departments to ensure customer satisfaction, before, during, and after the sale. * Determines customer requirements and expectations to recommend specific products and solutions based on cost, availability, specifications or to increase customer satisfaction. * Accurately processes customer transactions such as purchase orders, quotations, returns, and samples/literature requests. * Uses proactive sales approach to aid the efforts of the outside sales team by utilizing sales tools to establish contacts and appointments. * Educates customers about the features and benefits of our products to improve their territories sales and customer satisfaction while increasing the average order size by means of cross selling, up-selling, and add-on sales. * Manages time effectively, meets personal goals, and works effectively with co-workers. * Ability to respond to a fast-paced work environment and handle multiple tasks. * Retrieves messages from voice mail and forwards them to appropriate personnel. Answers incoming telephone calls in a friendly, professional manner, determines purpose of callers, and forwards calls to appropriate personnel or department. * Welcomes on-site visitors and monitors visitor access, determines nature of business, and announces visitors to appropriate personnel in a professional manner. * Maintains and organizes production reports. * Maintains and organizes maintenance logs/reports. * Checks in and routes all incoming packages to appropriate departments (FedEx, UPS) Checks in packages and emails employees. * Prepares, logs, and affixes shipping labels on packed cartons. * Orders and maintains office supplies and first aid supplies. * Coordinates supply of beverages, refreshments, meals, and supplies needed for the office, in-house training, and visitor events. * Supports office administrator duties as needed. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to follow established safety rules.
