Estimator - Modern Molding (Delano, MN) Modern Molding is seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to support quoting and sales operations for plastic injection molding. This role plays a key part in generating accurate, competitive estimates for new tooling, production, and repairs. Reporting to the Business Development Manager, the Estimator ensures profitability through well-calculated quotes, collaborating across teams and contributing to company growth. Key Responsibilities * Cost Estimation & Quoting * Prepare detailed and competitive quotes for tooling, production, and repair. * Analyze part designs, materials, and process requirements. * Complete RFQs within 3 business days; maintain quote accuracy and competitiveness. * Collaborate with engineering, tooling, and production for feasibility and risk analysis. * Customer & Team Collaboration * Review customer prints/specs and clarify technical requirements. * Respond promptly and professionally to customer RFQs. * Technical & Manufacturing Knowledge * Apply expertise in injection molding, tooling, and materials. * Partner with internal teams to assess mold design, cycle times, and production viability. Qualifications * 5+ years of estimating or quoting experience in plastic injection molding. * Hands-on molding experience and strong analytical skills preferred. * Proficiency in Excel, ERP/MRP systems, quoting tools; CAD familiarity a plus. * Strong attention to detail, technical knowledge, and time management. * Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
