Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Claims Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and processing insurance claims efficiently and accurately. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding, and the intricacies of workers' compensation law. The Claims Specialist will work closely with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to ensure timely resolution of claims. Responsibilities * Review and process insurance claims for accuracy and completeness. * Verify patient eligibility and insurance coverage through thorough research. * Utilize medical documentation to support claims submissions. * Apply knowledge of DRG, ICD-9 coding, and medical terminology in the claims process. * Maintain organized files for all claims and related documentation. * Communicate with healthcare providers to obtain necessary information for claims processing. * Stay updated on changes in workers' compensation law and insurance regulations. * Collaborate with financial departments to resolve discrepancies related to claims. Skills * Strong understanding of DRG, ICD-9 coding, and medical terminology. * Familiarity with workers' compensation law and insurance verification processes. * Proficient in clerical tasks including filing and maintaining records. * Experience with financial software relevant to claims processing. * Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. * Strong communication skills for effective interaction with healthcare providers and insurers. * Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
