The Intercontinental St. Paul Riverfront hotel proud to be a cornerstone of the elevated tourist experience, here in Minnesota. Centrally located and set high above the Mississippi, our downtown hotel truly connects our guests with all St. Paul has to offer while we provide them with a luxurious stay. Our team members are loyal and dedicated, taking pride in providing our guests with a comfortable, memorable experience. We are seeking a dynamic Sales Manager to join our amazing Sales team. The Sales Manager position is responsible for contributing to the total sales and marketing efforts of the hotel. They will manage accounts to achieve guest satisfaction and to solicit past and new business to ensure all revenue goals are achieved or exceeded. The position requires excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Incumbent must provide results while simultaneously working independently and within a team environment. Incumbent will provide exceptional customer service through the creative development and fulfillment of proposals and business Agreements. What Intercontinental St. Paul Riverfront can bring to YOU: * Benefits including Medical, Dental, Disability and vision insurance; * 401(k) including 401(k) match; * Paid Time Off (both paid sick time and vacation); * Employee Discount; * Flexible Schedule What you can bring to Intercontinental St. Paul Riverfront: * Present, promote and sell Intercontinental Saint Paul-Riverfront rooms and function spaces to current and potential customers. - - Follow up on new leads and referrals from all sources. * Identify sales prospects and contact these and other accounts as assigned. * Prepare presentations, proposals and sales contracts. * Develop and maintain sales materials and current product knowledge. * Establish and maintain current client and potential client relationships. * Participate in sales events such as seminars, trade shows, receptions and telemarketing events. * Professionally maintain accounts in Delphi, all department files, reports and miscellaneous correspondence. * Prepare a variety of status reports, including activity, production, follow-up, and adherence to goals. * Assists in the implementation of company marketing plans as needed. * Provide additional assistance to staff and customers as needed. * Other duties as assigned We are seeking candidates with: * Previous Hotel Sales experience is required. * Knowledge of Twin Cities SMERF markets is highly desirable. * Knowledge of Business Travel Account management is highly desirable. * Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems. * Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers. * Ability to travel as required. * Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. * Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data. * Ability to listen effectively, to speak and write English clearly. - Ability to utilize computer - prefer experience with Delphi, Word, Excel & Hilton OnQ, OPERA * Thorough organization and time management skills to complete tasks efficiently and timely. * Excellent knowledge of English grammar and spelling. Physical Environment: * Position demands some or rare instances standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting products and supplies weighing 50 pounds and repetitive hand and wrist motion; * Walking: moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another; * The role requires use of calculators, keyboards, telephone and other office equipment in the course of normal workday.
